With all of this talk about Porridge, I'm kind of wishing it was available up in Oshkosh, it would do my body well while sitting in the 20 degree snowy weather Saturday afternoon.  ;D ;)

Cracker Barrel exists in Oshkosh. Search Cracker Barrel for porridge and you find Cinnamon Oatmeal. Ask your server; but; that ain't porridge!

The spread on the OAC pick em board is Mount +6.5.  I would lay the 6.5, but it seems like more folks are taking Mount and the points (with a fair number picking Mount to win outright).  My knee jerk guess at a score would be something like 38-21 UMHB.

38? Really? I can't see Mount keeping UMHB to 38 points. I am leaning somewhere between 45-55 for the winner. Just don't know who that is going to be. I think UMHBs defense could either give up 45 to Mount or hold them under 24. Head scratcher.

My hunch is that UMHB's defense is comparable to JCU.  Mount moved the ball okay against the Streaks and scored 28 points.  I don't think 28 is going to get it done Saturday either though.  In all likelihood I think Mount needs to score 40+ to win.  That's a tall order for Davis as I think Mount is going to have problems running the ball on UMHB.  From what has been said on other boards it seems that the consensus is you need to run north/south at UMHB because they're too fast to run outside on them.  That doesn't seem to mesh well with the Raider ground game (or at a minimum Mitchell).  Perhaps we see a few more carries for Aaron this week.

The bottom line to me is at some point there's going to come a time in the playoffs where you need a couple guys to step up and make huge plays.  Plays that turn the tide.  Plays that change the game.  Who are those guys?  I hope we find that out Saturday.

Candle a candidate for the Cincinnati HC position??

Personally, I'd hire Kerry Coombs from OSU.

Coombs would be a popular hire I'd think.  It seemed like Fleck considered UC to be a lateral move hence his lack of interest.  I still think it's a step up from the MAC despite not being a power 5 job.  I'm glad Candle didn't get mentioned for the Purdue job.  That's a bad job.  UC on the other is not.  You can win there.  And get paid handsomely to do it (relative to a MAC HC or OSU position coach).

Raider fans, you'all definitely have better seating this game than at the Alfred game. What was going on there?
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Alfred's visiting stands are probably similar to 50% of d3 visiting stands.  The CRU looks legit, probably the best in d3?  cortland is probably the nicest I've ever seen.

That's Texas for ya, JU, though UMHB's house is an extreme example.  I recall playing Howard Payne on the road and the site was Brownwood HS, which seemed just as big as Morehead State's stadium (on both sides).

Yep.  Most private upstate New York schools aren't spending 1/3 of their endowment on a football stadium!  (Although I wish they would)

it was more than a third. if I read the right endowment number the student union/stadium complex was just a few million shy of the endowment, but a huge portion of the stadium was paid for by a benefactor
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Unlike the professional spread-makers (like our new friend Hansen), my spreads are not based solely on statistics.  I also try to factor in a little psychology, as I need to make my playas -- who are primarily OAC fans -- uncomfortable.  If I made it 7.5 instead of 6.5, they would feel much more comfortable picking UMU.  I can't have that!

I agree that UMHB has that ability to run away, and that UMU's backfield scares (pisses) the crap out of me.  But I could also have made it closer based on the tale of the tape:
