For the Mount faithful, it's almost time, I believe we all hope for a great game, great athletic performances and no injuries to anyone. I know alot of stock has been placed on the Cru, and I love the program, but.. anything can happen, we have learned that at Linfield twice, UW-Whitewater and of course.. you guys... Of course we hope for a victory but if not, then for it to happen vs. Mount Union then it is a fitting conclusion. What is the ol saying.. So anyone get the idea that Mount was playing a little 'let's keep things vanilla" on defense the last few weeks?  Meaning that although the defense is certainly not up to usual Mount standards, VK really didn't do much to show different looks when they were challenged.

Not that I know anything  ::) but don't be surprised to see more than a few wrinkles on defense today.

Offensively Mount will put up 30+, just have to see if it's enough or not.

I am going to listen to the first half on my phone until I get home from a prior commitment (which will go unnamed as I don't want to lose my man card).

Let's go Streaks & Purple Raiders!

Let's review, with thanks to D3Football.com:

The University of Mount Union and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor have squared off just twice before, each time in Alliance, Ohio, with a trip to the Stagg Bowl on the line.
In 2004, a young UMHB program played and won three NCAA playoff games on the road to get to the national semifinals and pulled off the upset of the No. 1 team with a late rally.
This year, MUC set a school record for three road wins to reach a semi-final game. Have any teams other than UMHB and MUC done that?
More importantly, will MUC repeat D3 history and pull off the upset of the No. 1 team?

Man, did KC's team quit in the 2nd qtr or what??  wow

Good luck to the Raiders today, but I must admit, for the first time in many years I believe this team has overachieved and may be in for a good spanking.
Hope not, but fear the worst.
They will be prepared and give what they got, but I just haven't seen enough to get over this hurdle.
Good luck also to JCU. Hope you make the Stagg.  Would be great for the conference.
It is just fun to have a couple familiar teams in the final four and will watch both games with feeling.

For what it is worth, on College Game Day...
Desmond and the senior Cadet and Midshipman from Army and Navy all picked Mount Union.
Lee and Herbie both picked UMH-B.

That's where I'm at too.   Hoping for a 4 quarter battle but fearing Mount will get run off the field.

Guess this is what it fills like to be the average D3 fan when their team travels to Mount in the semi's.    After 25+ years it's about time the rolls are reversed.....
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

In 2008 Wheaton won 3 road games as a two loss Pool C to reach the semis vs Mt Union.

I'm hanging my hat - and my hopes - on this:  Mount Union lost one game this year, to a very good team, by three points, losing the turnover battle 4-0.

Do I think UMHB should be favored?  Yep.  Do I think UMHB might win big?  Yep.   But I also thought Virginia's basketball team with Ralph Freaking Sampson would beat Chaminade, ferchrissakes.

Would tend to agree that like Dad, VK has been very cagey coming thru a weak bracket,,,its the hope we all have

I'm hoping Dustin Fox will provide some better analysis than "no scholarships, these guys are playing for the love of the game". Blah Blah

Third and a half-yard ... why put your quarterback in the shotgun?  0-2 so far !!

I dunno, the times they've gone with big package personnel and Moeglin under center they were stuffed.  Keep after it from the spread; they are winning up front on both sides of the ball.  So far.
