I'll end my participation in this pre-game void....one should never player checkers with a Master in that case.

"apart" vs "a part"

See a lot of "...glad to be apart of this team..."  are you "a part" of the team or "apart from" the team?

Have we become the NCAC board?  8-) Oh and we forgot "a lot" and "alot".....and using "very" to emphasize everything - so that in the end it really means very little! ;D I had a student when I was a TA years ago. The paper was so bad, and filled with all of these (and more). She recieved a "0" (also had plagiarism and only 2 of 7 pages). When papers got handed back I explained the A/A- etc..in the grading. She asked "What's an O?"

I'm guilty of many of the above language errors.   Though being an engineer that has marginal typing skills and even less regard for proper English, I don't realize half of the errors I make and don't care about most of those that I realize.

Then if you add in that I'm a farm boy from the sticks, it's amazing I can write at all.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

K & J's Dad,

Add MLB Charlie Dear to your 1st string defense for next year. Charlie is my neighbor and informed me some time ago that he had another year of eligibility. He has already informed the team that he is coming back next year. Is that great news or what?

Doesn't Charlie have a younger brother playing at Jackson?  I wonder what his college plans are.

After a day to digest and watch some of the game a second time, here are some thoughts on the game and season:

1)  First and foremost, what a defensive effort.  Truly a championship worthy performance from a maligned unit.  When it counted most they stepped up with their best performance of the year.  I don't know if one game can totally change the outlook for 2017, but it certainly helped a ton to me.

2)  The same exact thing can be said for BJ Mitchell.  What a gutsy game when his team needed him most.  He has taken some ribbing on here and not been given credit at times.  The offense sputtered Saturday, but he was their life support.  He gave them a chance to win.  Great job.  And great career too.  No, he's not Kmic or Moore or Pugh, but he was a very good back and he did it for 4 years.  That's nothing to sneeze at.

3)  Hats off to the coaching staff.  Great game plan Saturday, great job coaxing this green team to within a FG drive of Salem.  Honestly, it's incredible.  I thought they were sunk heading to Belton.  Instead they're 30 yards away from a game-winning FG attempt.  One of the best coaching jobs I've ever seen.

4)  As for the QB competition, I think it's only to be expected that there will be one.  And that has nothing to do with Davis.  It has everything to do with the fact that we're dealing with freshmen.  We have not seen a freshman QB in over 20 years.  There's a reason.  They're rarely ready to play.  I think we're going to see a lot of growth in our QB's from freshmen to sophomores.  They may not grow at the same speed though.  What we do know is the best guy is going to play.  I think this year showed us that when 3 different kids started.

Overall this team exceeded my expectations, especially Saturday.  Thank you to all the seniors.  Their heart and leadership willed this team to a higher level than I thought possible.  Thanks for the ride.  They return a ton next year and they're battle tested now.  And we have our QB spot sewed up for the next 3 years regardless of who plays.  I'm already looking forward to 2017!

I don't think it is just you HScoach, my Dad worked with an engineer (actually several - but one in particular) at GE for years. Dad always said, regarding the engineer, "4 years ago I couldn't spell engineer - now I are one".

Not bad size. Listed at 5'11 and 185. Plays RB/DB. I am sure he would add 5-10 lbs in first year. Having a RB in the 5'11 205LB range would be nice.

id like to see Tevion Cleveland from Perry hs end up at mount, perfect fit, little smaller in size,  like 5-7 155  but crazy skills at rb, wr, db kick ret, even played qb.. those are the kinds of kids that grow a little in college then people are like how'd this kid not get a d1 scholarship.

He's a nice player.  Played WR before RB so he can catch the ball too.  I would be surprised if he doesn't have D2 offers.  Hopefully he wants to play with his brother and play for titles though.
