Anyone local seen the progress on the new scoreboard?  I saw the pic of the old one being removed on Twitter.

I live nearby and walk by often, the bottom portion is the only part up. It is MUCH bigger than the old one. I'd guess either a video board or graphic screen being there.

Dwayne Aaron is going to be an assistant coach at Malone this year.

They posted a new pic last night.  There's a screen of some sort.  Hopefully it's a video one although I'm not certain what they'd run on it since there's no streaming video for the games currently.

Yeah, Daktronics does snazzy LED displays.  That'll be a fun toy.

To all of you wondering about the new scoreboard -

I watched them work on it today. The top part is a screen which will allow replays and other "stuff".
What I don't care for is the fact that the actual scoreboard is lower than the old one. Of course, this is because of the much larger screen portion. From my seat in the covered stands, the goal posts pretty much block out major parts of that lower section of the board. The cross bar is the real culprit.
Oh well, still better than the old one.
Football practice begins next week. Can't wait for Sept. 2. Don't know if NC Wesleyan is as excited. Well, of course they are.

1 mount union player on the pre season all America team. I wonder how that changes by the end of the year. I have a feeling Jared Ruth will be on 1st team O and possibly a rb (whoever it may be) and there's always a surprise guy . Dear on d possibly Robinson as well. Those 2 LB'S will be really good this year.

FWIW the 2017 roster is live and Choat is not on it currently.  Davis, Poorman, Fulford and Reid are on it as soph QB's, but Taitt is not currently on the roster.

Donovan didn't participate in spring practice. Not certain, but I think he transferred closer to home (Kennesaw State).

The start date determined by a formula which is based in part on each institution's first game and first day of classes. It will vary. I've talked to more than 30 coaches in the course of reporting for Kickoff and get a variety of dates from Aug. 8 to Aug. 13 for reporting.
