Moeglin to Woods to Williamson ... what a fabulous touchdown!
Only following live stats.....  Two pretty even teams based on what you have seen?

Defenses both tough in the first quarter.  Both gave up a big play (or two) in the second.  UWO is doing it on the ground; JCU via the air.
Thanks!!!

Interesting... Moeglin on the sideline for JCU, Riley Larkin in at QB.

I believe one of those newspaper articles said that Larkin and Moeglin rotated series with the starting O in their scrimmage.

If you can it's time to fire up the JCU live video.  Streaks getting the ball back down 23-17 with over 2 min left.

Wow.  Woooow.  UWO fakes the punt and the punter runs for a 1st down on 4th and 2.

Nice road win for UWO to open the season.....  Would love to see UWO/JCU continue with this series!!!

Dunno. A hundred guys played, including five quarterbacks (at least).

Love the way Mount cam out and played. Fulford to Hill was a great duo and with Ruth and Koscielski at TE I'm very excited for this offense, no matter who plays at RB. Shoot that doesn't even include the descriptive/sure handed Friss or speedy Haynes.
The defense did what they were supposed to do. Good start!

OAC showing well so far today!

How many punts did St. John's have?  LK used to punt on first and second down.

And today, VK kicked a FG at first-and-goal at the 4.  Gags had more class than that.

What is going on at JCU with playing 2 QBs??  I guarantee that is a split locker room and very hard to get in a rhythm for a QB to split time.

I don't care if the band played......Gags had WAAAY more class. I know it sounds like sour grapes but I have seen Mount RBs run out of bounds at the 5 on break aways followed by a FG or a kneel down. Where is Greggggggg EasterHACK??

Now to what matters....Mount Union. Not too much to take away from this one. NCW is really more like a Capital or Marietta in terms of talent. So how do you really evaluate Mount? Regardless:

Fulford looked comfortable and decisive. Throws a nice ball, runs well - but I didn't see too much "tempo" play. Heard people around me say he is like Taurice Scott - maybe. Seems to throw a little better, but not run as well. I know week 1, etc. Hill and Ruth - great. Friss reminded me of Tim Kennedy on that screen pass - so that's good. Oline play...meh. They opened some holes but look like they need to gel some more. RB...ah and now we get there. Jawanza Evans-Morris (hereafter - JEM) looked ok. Not great. Didin't break any, didn't run over anyone. I know I am a broken record - but Mount needs a between the tackles back. JEM doesn't seem to have the edge speed and doesn't have the middle size. Same for Petrucelli. Choate - who some had thought would contend looked average and somewhat slow (only 1 carry and 2 receptions - but looked confused and slow on assignments). The new TE is big and good - after the fumble through end zone he settled down. Nice target.

The D was good. Again - NCW didn't seem to have much to bring to the table. Dear is a beast, as is Vidal. Was impressed with some of the DB play. Brian Grove looked leaps and bounds better from last year. Austin White (Safety) plays like some previous Mount safties - hits hard, good in coverage. The only DB that really left me confused is Louis Berry. He got beat twice. Granted the QB had no hope of setting his feet - so it cost nothing. But with his speed I was suprised to see him 2 steps back. In addition - turn your head! He could have had a pick on the visitor sideline if he turns his head.

The most impressive thing I saw from NCW was the size of the WR (Davis?) Big kid, ran well - just didn't have anytime to get the ball to him.

Oh well. Off week followed by Etta - I want to see how they look by the BW game.

Mr. Ypsi

To me, obviously, deliberately not scoring is even more rubbing it in than scoring.  Playing the guys who never otherwise play, and no deep passes, is about all you can reasonably do.  If a guy deliberately ran out of bounds at the five when he had clear sailing to the endzone, I'd be much more insulted than if he scored.

I haven't checked the play-by-play of the last ten minutes of the SJU game, but since they didn't score, I'm guessing they did some things that as an opponent I would find MORE objectionable than losing by triple digits.  Your empathy I welcome.  Your sympathy I accept.  Your pity - F**K You.
