We're going to learn a lot this weekend:

Berg is hosting JCU.  Berg is fresh off a nice W over ONU.  JCU, as has been mentioned, did not look great last week at BW.  How this game goes will tell us quite a bit.  I still think JCU handles Berg.  The Streaks are balanced enough offensively to put points up on Berg.  And forgive me, but I always view Berg's offense with a skeptical eye.  Can they do it against a very good D like JCU?

ONU vs. Ott is a good "pecking order" game.  If Ott beats ONU it positions them with Berg and sets up an absolute track meet between those two.

BW at Mount will give us a little insight into BW.  As usual we have to expect BW to be a challenge defensively.  The Jackets are always up for Mount and their D usually plays well against Mount.

Could also learn a bit more about JCU from how BW plays Mount Union.

Very intriguing Saturday ahead for fans of the OAC.

Absolutely! I feel like most years, BW is the biggest question mark in the OAC, the seem to go from 8-2 to 3-7 with no rhyme or reason. So the real question would be is this a 6-8 win team or 2-4?

Probably not...  Pretty sure we won't be able to run the ball well.

and JCU always seems to be able to pass through our defense like its Swiss cheese.  Hoping for a game though.

If they have a losing record this year then that hole Hilvert is digging out of is deeper than I thought.  After Mount they have Etta/Wilm/Musky in a row so they should be 4-2 heading to Ott with Cap on deck.  At worst I'd think 5-5 this year.  I'd think 6-4 is more likely.  Let's see how Saturday goes.

Berg has talented skill guys.  They normally do.  Those guys are just flat out better than a lot of kids on opposing defenses.  That's why they just run circles around most of the conference with the ball.  The issue is when top teams have the athletes/team speed on defense to match up with Berg and turn it into an X's and O's chess match.  That's where Berg has trouble adjusting sometimes.

Very true.. The other question is, will Berg's Defense be able to stop JCU's offense.. Not saying that JCU has a great offense, that has  yet to prove itself. However, as I pointed out earlier this week, last year, JCU put up 42 on Berg, after a slow offensive start, and the offense never looked back.

Josh Petruccelli #1 RB... THATD BE GREAT TO BE SET FOR THIS SEASON AND THE NEXT 3 YEARS AT RB. HOPEFULLY GETS BETTER EVERY WEEK. IM SURE HE WILL..

A few items of interest from the 2 deep today:

Crenshaw is back on it.  He's listed as the backup CB behind Brown.

Davis is QB2 this week.

Petruccelli is listed as the starting RB.  He and JEM flip flopped.

I figured the Davis and Petrucelli changes were coming sooner than later. Both are too talented to not be starting and/or seeing time. Glad Crenshaw is healthy! Now our schedule will get more serious and the importance of depth can't be enough.

I'm wondering if they had Davis on JV for a couple of weeks so he could get some playing time, to get ready to be backup to Fulford once tougher OAC Games came on the schedule.  No use standing on the sidelines, holding a clipboard.

Davis only played 4 series of JV against JCU in week 1, and that was to even out the reps after getting just one series against NCW the day before.  He didn't travel for the JV game last week.

Poorman will start the JV game this Sunday at Ashland.  I would not expect to see him get reps on Saturday.

On a non OAC note it is pretty impressive to St Thomas and St Johns at Target field with over 30,000 tickets sold so far.

Good info, kdets.  +k

I'm going to be interested in the distribution of carries at RB.  I'm sure they'll still be splitting carries as they have been.
