Can't find any individual game stats for Big Bill in 94. However, in 2009 Seaman was 9 of 13 with a 1 TD in his first game (St. John Fisher) and went 6 of 13 with his first pick in game 2 against ONU. Don't know where in the sequence the pick came but at best it was 26 attempts. First year I see actual season stats on Bill is 95. Yes he had 6 picks and wasn't a FR but....he also had 354 attempts (242 complete for 68.4%) and 40 TDs. Where is Ric?? He would know.

For Borchert I see in the Mount record book his totals listed in the most passes intercepted category:

7. 10 - Bill Borchert (179-306-10) - 1994

But I glossed over that when looking at his magical 1997 season:

3. 4335 - Bill Borchert (275-413-2) - 1997
413 attempts and 2 picks isn't bad - and when you put in his touchdown number that year: 63 :o :o

Oh well. Anyone think we will ever see that type of year again?

Week #7 spreads are out.  And MUC/MTU fans, you are going to have to earn it this week!   :o

Man, Saturday is going to be uggggly.  Cap is fresh off giving up 51 points and 643 yards to ONU.  Williams rushed for 407 against them.  Not that I expected things to go well for Cap, but that's just an abysmal defensive effort right before heading to Alliance.

All the Raiders will play this coming Saturday, not sure how many FG's we will see? :-\

Petro might hurdle the whole way to the endzone a time or three

Maybe Cap was sandbagging it. Trying to get Mount to look past them in that classic "trap game" scenario...I mean with Wilmington on the horizon...nevermind.

There are a few teams that rise up to the level of their opponent and, therefore I won't count them out. UMHB is one of dem dar teams. Mount has had a few classics against them (the best being the comeback - what a game). As far as I am concerned the polls could rotate UMHB, Mount, Linfield, UWO (as of late) and the Tommies - adifferent #1 each week. For most years 4 of them are the final 4 - granted I am not mentioning UWW (which for some reason worries me).

I don't know who'd beat who but that UMHB defense is really good. I know Mt guys love it when posters say "Mt hasn't seen...", and I won't exactly say it seeing as how they played each other last year, but Mt, this year, certainly hasn't faced anything like what UMHB will bring on D.
If UWO doesn't make the Stagg, I'd love to see a Mt-UMHB championship.

I don't know if UMHB and Linfield have the offense to be #1, nor does UWO look to have the defense to be #1.  But that's just the opinion of some guy named Merle

I think both Ds are impressive. Mount has given up 397 yds rushing on the year (79.4 per game) and have faced a couple good backs (ONUs Williams - 49 on 17 and Bergs Vocke - 31 on 12). Willimams went off last week against Cap (I know, its Cap) for 400+. Gained more from scrimmage in one game than Mounts given up all year.

Its the pass D that concerns me. I know they get picks (and if you have not seen Groves pick against Berg - wow!) but the middle of the field seems WIDE open at times. Check most of the film and look at gap 12 yds beyond LOS to about 25, between the hashmarks.

The UMHB O in 2012 got dominated by Mounts D. But UMHB had an incredible D that year and forced 5 TOs (1 pick 6) and had a short field for much of the game. Mount needed a 4th rally and blocked punt to pull it out. Point is if the D is that good - sometimes the O doesn't have to be great.
