Through 5 1/2 games, Fulford has thrown 109 passes and 23 (!!!) have gone for touchdowns.  We're looking at 1997 Bill Borchert numbers - and Borchert was a senior.

(Not saying Fulford's that good.)

(But . . . hmmm.)

Trivia Alert:

For those listening to WDPN, during the first quarter of the 2001 Averett game they were referring to, Mount set the NCAA record for points in a quarter with 52.

I thought that game was 2007?

Right you are.  [I need to use a larger font]

I did check and it was 2007. Micheli was 9 of 9 for 123 yds with no TDs. Garcon 3 receptions for 28 yds. Looking at those numbers one might assume it was a game. But there it is...Kmic 7 carries 156 yds, 4tds. Wow. 52 points in quarter. I think they actually scored 72 by half and kicked a second half FG.

Yup.  Michelli was 9 for 9, Rocco was 5 for 5, Cecil Shorts was 2 for 2, and Danny Harris was 1 for 2.  Four QBs, one incompletion.

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

OT in University Heights.  Watching the JCU video feed and these guys from JCU are brutal to listen to.  They're making the final possession for ONU in regulation sound like the strangest sequence of events in the history of the game.  They managed the clock and missed a FG.  As a coach, I can say it was pretty standard stuff going on.  These dudes are talking about how the finish of this game will be a historically unique finish and questioning every decision.  My ears are bleeding.

It is early but I think Heidelberg has moved back into top 25 and working towards securing playoff berth.

BW beats Musky by only 3?  Yuck.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Nice win for ONU.

I agree this was a nice win for ONU. Also I would think that this was nice win for Heidelberg. With #3 UWO beating JCU by only 6 points I would think Heidelberg gets a sizable push up the ranks from this.

Nice win for ONU.

Bears out gained the Streaks 531-292.  Wow.  That is not your 2016 JCU defense by any stretch.  Williams ran for over 200 on them today.

Dr. Acula

Jared Ruth has 9 TD catches.  He only has 20 receptions total.  That's crazy.  (Hill has 8 scores on 21 catches so equally as crazy)

Mount's 3 main RB's are averaging 7.8 ypc, 7.6 ypc and 7.5 ypc.  The OAC is not good this year.

And now for my no holds bar assessment of today's Mount game, Mount in general, and Berg.

Today's game....what the crap do you say about a quintupple-dropkick-a$$ stomp? Using CAPs first 2 drives - they scored - and a few throughout the first half - Mount had trouble getting pressure early. Partly due to CAP using quick passing - slants, screens, outs - but even when first and second read were covered the QB had time. On the passing in the 1st qtr the DBs were giving too much separation and gave up some quick hitters over the middle. Is what it is and it was corrected.

For Mount today I will be critical. I know the RBs have averages of 7+ but what I don't see is an actual run game. Mount has NEVER won a National Championship without a game changer at RB. I see a few nice carries here and there and the deep ball. We all know that will take them to the Semis (most likely) but they need a legitimate run game. I have not seen Mount play a complete game (the competition has not required it) this season. I need to see if JEM can handle 20+ carries, or if JEM/Petro can haul 30+, mixed in with a pass game. Years past we saw that a few times before playoffs - its getting late and I don't see a need until jcu. Right now I see a team that has been limited (I know - odd choice of wording) to the pass. One dimensional doesn't finish on top.

Berg - look I layed off after the Mount game. I am now watching Berg/Ott...Berg is a nice little team - but would get steamrolled by any legit top 5/10 team in the country and only be mildly competitive with a top 15 team in the country. No discipline on O (penalties out the wazoo), no assignment discipline on D, poor tackling (saw that annoying Julian Lowe - WR from OTT break 4 tackles on the sideline without a stiff arm), too many YAC, and special teams tonight has given up long returns and a returned kick for a TD. I see a lot of me football and very little team effort. You have 2 or 3 on O (QB, RB, and 1 WR) and 2 or 3 on D (Crowe, the LB, and well thats it) - surrounded by..well not much in terms of talent or speed.
BTW: Before Berg fans get all in a twist with "what are you kidding me..." - you played one (1) legit top 5 team....and got steamrolled, not even competitive for 3 minutes. So I think the jcu/UWO/Berg scenario should be laid to rest - UWO would win in Mount fashion. Plus, OTT does not seem to be doing anything out of the norm. No misdirection, no multiple shifts, no trick plays - OTT is coming straight at you and scored 4 TDs in the first half. Oh and BTW#2 - OTT is not a top 20 team.

Good win for ONU today - congrats. University Heights is a tough place to play and pick up the win. I think we can jcu is out of playoffs.

DesertRaider:  I understand your concern BUT is there a Larry Leipold-coached DOMINANT team out there?

In other words, on a neutral field, who would you take over Mount Union this year and by how many points?
