Watching OSU.  Listening to the Berg.  Coverage is not bad.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Insane game by Ohio State.  Halfway through the third quarter:  Seven  possessions, seven long drives, seven touchdowns.

edward de vere

Eight possessions, eight long drives, eight touchdowns.

BergAlum

YIKES! that was close.  To think Northern held them to just a single touchdown

NIU beat Nebraska.  The Huskers are BAD.

DesertRaider:  I understand your concern BUT is there a Larry Leipold-coached DOMINANT team out there?

In other words, on a neutral field, who would you take over Mount Union this year and by how many points?

Impossible question to answer and it doesn't have to be a "Larry Leipold -coached DOMINANT" team. UMHB has a solid D. Good LBs and DBs. Good team speed. UWO has a really good D and good speed. Not sure on NCC, Linfield, etc. However, we have seen this before when you get deep in the playoffs the teams are better and have more talent (Captain Obvious moment there). Those UWW teams (yes I know LL coached) had the talent to cover the WRs and the discipline to not make mistakes. The Tommies had the talent early to stay with the WRs - it was Nemeth that changed that. I would love to see Mount work the mix of run pass for the last few games. For me the RBs are a question mark.

NIU beats a Big Ten team every year.

But, yes, Nebraska is bad.  (Or at least their defense.)

Still: Eight possessions, eight LONG drives, eight touchdowns.  No long bombs, no sixty-yard runs, no punt returns, no kick returns, no interception or fumble returns.

Weird.

Actually, I'M the one who took down a bottle of wine tonight.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled programming (i.e. bourbon-&-coke).

I see a lot of me football and very little team effort. You have 2 or 3 on O (QB, RB, and 1 WR) and 2 or 3 on D (Crowe, the LB, and well thats it) - surrounded by..well not much in terms of talent or speed.

Heidelberg the past few years always seem to be that way, a few big playmakers,(Dye, Brooks) and thats it ; and all those stand out players are seniors so next year, Heidelberg will probably drop to a 5-5 season

You guys do know it's Lance Leipold right?

Perhaps this is some weird hybrid of LK and LL. Opponents everywhere cower in fear.

And I gotta be honest - that sucks. Its hard to get a QB that can play and you have one. He has 1 maybe 2 weapons around him - but a swiss cheese line (don't care how many sacks they give up - he is running on every play) that gets flagged for holding 5-6 times a game. It seems the teams in the OAC that have been able to rise up can't sustain it beyond 3 years. CAP made a run during the Pentello Era (literally an entire ERA), OTT had that one year in 2005 (maybe 06), Berg with Dontae Dye and crew, and jcu last year (I am not counting this year as a win until it is one!). Point is they get a good group, get demolished as FR, pounded as SO, beat as JR and compete as SR (in some cases)....but have nothing behind them to continue progressing. Every once in a while they get a win - ONU in 07, jcu in 16 but they fade faster than they arrive.

I chose to take it that way....you know they are testing with gene splicing...hmm. A hair from LKs visor, one from LLs headset and BOOM! Dynasty. I can see the Hiram Alum planning now. ;D
