30-7 at half. Ott really had 2 plays the entire first half. The deep pass to their TE - wide open because Gabe Brown left him to take off for the QB run. Yes, gabe got back and made tackle at 3 - but dude! The QB was 35 yards up field from you. He was being pulled down from behind by Mihochi (I think) and if he got away - he had Charlie Dear, Roninson and a DB right there. Question for Gabe Brown - What were you rthinking?

The second play was a legit run by Steppe. Up the middle - Mount had their D tackles wide, LBs behind them, and no one over the center. Odd formation. Other than that, OTT didn't do anything in the first half.

Mounts O really sputtered in 2nd qtr. No it wasn't OTTs D stopping them - penalties, and Fulford giving - yes giving (as in gift wrapped with a bow) 2 sacks. I don't understand why Fulford rolled left, ran forward to LOS, then retreated and rolled out, then stood there and took a loss of 10. He was dinged up late 2nd - wonder if we see Poorman with first team O in 3rd.

Terry Bowden [the other one] and his Zips just handed Coach Lance's Bulls their 6th loss, 21-20.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Ouch.  Losing to Akron in anything other than soccer is not a good look.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Weird 1st half.  Only 173 yards of offense but 4 TD's.  Otterbein keeps gift wrapping great field position for Mount.  Ugly defensive drive to end the half.  Not thrilled with the sacks either.

Ott has 81 total yards at half but gets 77 yards on their last drive of the half.

What a sloppy game. Mount played bad. Period. Sloppy on O, penalites (10 - 100) personal fouls (2). The D was the savior of the day - with the exception of 2 plays. I am sure right now VK (who also got a penalty!) is not happy. Practice come Monday is gonna suck.

On the good note: sloppy game, no consistency, lots of penalities and still a 51-14 victory. The stats are misleading as Mount had ridiculously short fields most of the day. Oh well, next up Musky.

Oh and Etta over ONU. Didn't see that one coming.

Oh - and a trick play by Mount, inside the 10 - throw back to a lineman ??? ??? Major backfire in that it was fumbled and returned 15 by Ott. Headscratcher.

The answer is probably something stupid - like just two years ago or so - but when was the last time neither the WIAC nor the OAC had two teams in the 32-team playoff field?

If I understand, you are correct, it was 'or so' years ago. 2014 MUC 2, WIAC 1

Sometimes I think it's just guys trying to make a a great play even if it's not there. Sometimes qbs want to add the unlikely but spectacular play to the highlight reel instead of just throwing it away or running for a two yard gain.

Well he did it twice and cost 20+ yards - both times killed drives.

BIG WIN for Matt Campbell, Tom Manning and crew! Iowa State 14 - TCU 7. Great game.

Yeah I was in no way endorsing it, I was just proposing a possible explanation
