We all know this is a ton of speculation but if Tennessee comes calling, it would be tough to say no to.  Knowxville is an amazing town and has the facilities and resources (boosters) to be enticing.  UT was my second college while I attended ONU as my then girlfriend (now wife of 13 years) was at UT for her undergrad.  Beautiful place, amazing gameday experience and rich history.  They haven't been the same since Phil Fulmer but Campbell could be the guy that gets them back in the mix in the SEC.

FTR, Campbell has had an impact already with "his recruits" as the walk-on QB that ESPN Gameday fell in love with this past weekend was absolutely brought in by Campbell and his staff.

Yeah, he wasn't a "normal" walk on.  Was on Scholarship at Oregon State and then went to JuCo.

Campbell recruited him out of Massillon Jackson when he was at Toledo.  QB then contacted him after his JuCo stint and wanted to Join the ISU team.  No scholarships left so he told them he would walk on.

I see the walk on QB as a guy he contacted to bring something to the table. I see recruits as guys you are building the program on. The QB - no doubt - has perfeormed, but he wasn't the center piece of ISU recruiting. I just think that a FL or TN is going to want more of a resume in terms of Matts recruits - which will be some of the guys playing next year (he did recruit last year, and of course this year).

FYI, Kempt went to Massillon. I thought you would know better than mixing up those two schools! 😁

So, if it's "Massillon" it's automatically Massillon Washington? But all other "Massillon's" need to be qualified as Perry or Jackson? Serious question - never got it.

I just saw this post

Iowa St just beat TCU, Matt Campbell now has same number of Top 5 wins this season as all SEC East coaches have combined for their careers

raiderpa

By saying that Campbell has Kehres type loyalty, I did not mean he would never leave Iowa State. I believe he will stay until he feels he has achieved his goals there.
I believe he is eventually a Big Ten head coach, or other major program with more $$ and stature than Iowa State, but not this year.  His buyout is reported as 9.5 million and will Tennessee or others pay this to get him?
I don't think so, however, my wife will tell you, I am wrong very very often.

Oh yes. Perry and Jackson go strictly by that and are insulted if you add Massillon to their name. It's understood that when you say Massillon it means Washington HS (which people don't usually call it by Washington). Same with Canton GlenOak, nobody uses the Canton part. This is how I heard it around the county growing up and living here for a long time.
