Sherman is out the next two- three weeks- MCL, Austin White has shoulder issue (watch this one as his may be a bit more serious), and Ruth is still nursing his hip pointer

Sir Battlescars

Poorman should transfer to Heidelberg and the OAC needs to get rid of that stupid transfer/sit-out a year rule.

I think eliminating that rule would be really unfair to all non Mount OAC Schools, after getting thumped by Mount year after year how many star players might jump ship and transfer to mount without that rule?

Also Davis and Poorman should transfer to Youngstown State, they could use some quarterbacks.

That's what really matters, after all.  Never mind what's best for the student.

Also, didn't this happen?  A (very big) star player transferred to Mount Union aaaaand did nothing at all.  If you're worried about Mount Union hoarding all of the best players in the league, you missed that train by only about 25 years.

Weekly QB Depth Chart update (Sorry, I feel obligated to keep posting):

Fulford
Poorman

Other two QBs dressing:
Powell - Sr
Keeney - Fr from VA

Dim Davis not listed

Geez, first he's not listed then you add insult to injury by insulting his intelligence, harsh!

Fat Fingers, posting from my phone.  My sincerest apologies!  I am still surprised that a True Freshman that led the team to the National Semifinals isn't in the mix more. But I can't argue with the performance of Fulford.  Was hoping to see Mr. Davis maybe at WR or one of the Safety positions.  Hope he is doing well!

It's worth noting that Davis was the QB at season's end because Fulford was hurt.   A healthy Fulford likely doesn't lose the job to Davis, at least based on what we've seen this season thru 8 games.

Though Davis does have the advantage of not throwing into tight windows...... ::)

Poorman was the starter at QB for the first 5 or so games and he shared possessions with Fulford.  Eventually both Poorman and Fulford go hurt and Davis step up and my I think the 8 th game or so both Poorman and Fulford were out.

Touché

It was the Capital game last year and they never looked back. Poorman was healthy a week or two later but he could not get the job back. He actually was not happy about it either

Who would be!!!!!?

Pat - Germany I remember, Malik...gotta be honest - who? ???

Ohsaa - Aside from the obvious (losing starting job and not getting it back you would obviously not be happy) you seem to hint you have more. Inside info? Curious. Still a tad unsure about you given the previous post on Fulford and the recent "if Fulford goes down..." You state that Poorman isn't the answer and that Davis hasn't played at game speed necessary...as if to say he would be the answer but isn't ready or has been denied playing time. Add to that the knock on Fulfords decision making and we have: Fulford isn't that good, Poorman isn't the answer, and Davis hasn't gotten a fair shot but has done everything right but when he did get a shot last year "they never looked back" (plus he is the only one you have not posted a negative on).

Then we add in Ruth isn't just injured - it's a hip pointer. Not a hip injury, a ding or some non-specific hip injury. Has that been made public? I haven't read it or heard on the game broadcasts. Davis has a potentially long term shoulder issue and Sherman out 2-3 with MCL - again has that been made public? I haven't seen an injury report? When Vidal went down a few weeks back we all talked about he got dinged up, or he came out after this or that - don't know anyone ever actually knew what happened. Mount doesn't normally rush to tell future foes "this guy will be out and so will that one". Hell I can't find anything on OTTs QB from last week (and thats probably a broken leg). So where you getting your info? Team meeting? Sideline talk?
Be careful Dom coaches don't like players on here talking about other players.  ;D

Still amazed that Germany ended up basically not playing at Mount. Is the moral of the story that Berg just had an amazing oline in 2010 and 2011?

No. Cause the flip side would be Mount had a crap one when he played there in 2013/14. BJ, Burke, Nemeth...they didn't have a problem getting rushing yards. I think the consensus on here was that he had been out a year and lost a step then tried to get back in and couldn't get back to where he was / was limited in carries due to Burke and BJ and then BJ and Nemeth. Regardless he was aheck of a back and then he wasn't.

It may have just been that Woods saw the writing on the wall.  Brooks was coming up behind him and went on to throw up 3 straight All-Region seasons in 2012-2014.  Maybe he looked at the Mount backs and thought they weren't as good as Brooks?

I would think if there was no rule and transfers could play immediately that Mount would lose far more kids than they would gain.  For every Germany Woods how many 3rd-4th stringers might leave to start elsewhere?  Probably less than I think, but I'm confident it'd be a net loss.
