Poorman should transfer to Heidelberg and the OAC needs to get rid of that stupid transfer/sit-out a year rule.

I think eliminating that rule would be really unfair to all non Mount OAC Schools, after getting thumped by Mount year after year how many star players might jump ship and transfer to mount without that rule?

I would think if there was no rule and transfers could play immediately that Mount would lose far more kids than they would gain.  For every Germany Woods how many 3rd-4th stringers might leave to start elsewhere?  Probably less than I think, but I'm confident it'd be a net loss.

It could work out worse for the OAC. I mean Mount could lose a lot of 3rd and 4th stringers - that could lead to the starters playing longer because of a depleted reserve roster. Ouch. Fulford, Hill, Ruth etc...playing 4 qtrs against Wilma, Etta, Cap. I hope the new scoreboard has 3 digit capabilities.

Is anyone having problems accessing StretchInternet for the game stream? I can go to it but the Mount?Musky game isn't listed below. Normally its there on Friday and I just buy the ticket then - can't find it.

We talking about Germany Woods, or are we talking about Malik Pressley?

Still amazed that Germany ended up basically not playing at Mount. Is the moral of the story that Berg just had an amazing oline in 2010 and 2011?

No. Cause the flip side would be Mount had a crap one when he played there in 2013/14. BJ, Burke, Nemeth...they didn't have a problem getting rushing yards. I think the consensus on here was that he had been out a year and lost a step then tried to get back in and couldn't get back to where he was / was limited in carries due to Burke and BJ and then BJ and Nemeth. Regardless he was aheck of a back and then he wasn't.

Yes I kind of forget that the rule means you can't participate in team functions, it's not like a redshirt where he'd be practicing every week. That year off probably took a toll

Fulford throws an INT.

I blame HSCoach.

They can leave anyway -- they can transfer to any of the 239 non-OAC schools and not sit out.

Very true Pat. I think this may have been addressed in gterms of players not leaving Mount for other OAC because of the rule and maybe not going elsewhere (non OAC) for other reasons (geography, or whatever). Personally - I think they should be able to attend wherever they choose. I mean it is "their dime" (ot at least their parents dime).

Hmmm, I would have expected more out of JB.    Though that does make sense now that I think about it.

I agree that you'd see just as many transfers "out" as you would see transfers "in" - if anything, I expect it would slightly even out the talent distribution as some 3rd- and 4th-stringers from Mount trickled onto other rosters in search of playing time.  I doubt that every star player on a different team would just pull up and transfer in to Mount Union, either - if they'd really wanted to be at Mount, they'd have gone straight there out of high school.  Sure, Mount has had some high-profile transfers in, a few that became major contributors and a few that didn't.

Pat - Germany I remember, Malik...gotta be honest - who? ???

Malik Pressley is a wide receiver that started his career at FDU-Florham in 2014-2015 (he had 78 catches for 817 yards and 7 TD as a freshman in 2014, 89 catches for 1152 yards and 18 TD as a sophomore in 2015).  Seeking a bigger challenge or bigger stage, Pressley transferred to Mount for the 2016 season and barely played (three appearances, zero statistics notched).  He transferred back to FDU-Florham this year and again has put up pretty good numbers as one of the top receivers in the MAC.  There was a story about it early this year in the Around the Nation column - basically, he transferred to Mount because he said that he wanted the challenge; after one season, he got in touch with his coach at FDU and decided to transfer back.  According to the story, there were no particularly hard feelings - they put it to a vote of the team and he was unanimously welcomed back.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

In the interest of fairness - Yo! WRMU crew. It's called a live or hot mic. It's on at half time and when you "go to break". Keep it classy and be professional. In other words:

Don't burp in the mic - 3 times
Don't swear - twice
Don't say a persons name and then say "he should just kill himself".

I listened to Noah Hiles for a couple years on WRMU - always classy, always excited, always professional. Try that next time. Oh and yes - I am the one that called WRMU with a complaint. Cheers-

Not to mention the fact that swearing on the air can get you a $2,000 or more fine by the FCC and potential implications for the future of the station's broadcasting license  >:( >:( >:( >:( . If I'd been listening to the game today I probably would have called to complain as well.

When I was at the station we would've gotten quite at talking to after the game if our station director heard swearing or "he should just kill himself. type comments yikes

Well when you add to that the fact that Mount was rocked by a student suicide a few years ago and I am sure the off-handed joking about it would not sit well anywhere on campus.

In other news - Logan Stepp is fine. Played. 127 yds rushing in a defeat to jcu. Overly cautious with the air cast I guess.

Berg goes down to BW. When can I stop calling them Berg???

Wilmington with a furious comeback in a loss against ONU. 21 point 4th qtr? 30+ point 2nd half?? I will not refer to them as Wilma - for now.

And finally - Marietta wins. Marietta is 6-3. Impressive job by the Pios.
