Lol I think Marietta fans might take issue with the term "randomly"  ;D

Yeah OAC is a headscratcher. I mean Mount put 50 on everyone (ok - not quite on ONU) in blowouts per usual. But the normally "strong" #2 and #3 WTF. I mean "berg" seemed a solid win because of their win over jcu and undefeated. But the loss to BW and Pios  ??? makes it not a solid win.  Unless "berg" lost to a strong Pios team - which got pasted 69-3 (that disqualifies anyone from the category "strong"). Then ya got jcu losing to ONU and berg, struggling against BW and looking bad in a Musky win. I mean is it fair to just say the other 8 OAC teams have some parity?

Mom - no rush but I would like to see the spread for Mount/jcu. In all seriousness that will be what I am basing the outcome on. The spreads are always spot on....well on-ish.

I don't know if anyone post it yet, but D3Football put out an excellent Q & A Summary about the DIII Playoff selection process. Very informative. They did a great job on it. Link is below.

I think most of us already new that there are significantly more DIII football teams in eastern half of US than western half, but the link below of a map showing teams already in and those with highest percentage to get in going into the final week of the season shows how dramatic the shift is.

A decent week for scores in the OAC Pick-Em this week, as nearly everyone got at least half the available points.  wesleydad led the way with thirteeen points, one better than reality check and BergAlum.

That moves wesleydad and BergAlum into the top four, but reality check continues to extend his overall lead.  With only one week to go, will we have a repeat champion?

Week 11 spreads will come out Monday night.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Thanks DR, but the OAC version of musical chairs has me flummoxed this year.  With five 6-3 teams and a 5-4 all beating each other, a lot more guesswork than usual.  Which John Carroll is going to show up next week?  The one that hung with Oshkosh and beat Marietta and BW, or the one that lost to ONU and the Berg (badly)?

My current guess is 20.5; it might rise a bit between today and tomorrow.  But before you take it as canon, let me refresh your memory ... I set it at 21.5 last year and JCU didn't need any of those points.

I'm sorry but what happened last year? I don't even recall a game being played.  I seem to remember something about a plague hitting Alliance but didn't look into it. Wsas it toads, locusts...not sure. ;D

If anyone is watching the NCAC - look out for Wittenberger (no not Wittenberg) - must be a new team. I would like to thank D3football.com's Adam Turner for introducing us to them in "Going out on a highnote":
"I thought the Titans, with a six-point loss to unbeaten Wittenberger in the season opener...."

I hear the coach is the much feared Burger Meister.  8-)

Going into JCU game D'Angelo Fulford has 39 touchdown passes & 38 incompletions on the year.

I fully acknowledge that the OAC sucks this season, but that's still crazy!

I'd still be impressed with those numbers if he was doing it in the UMAC.

Speaking of Fulford, I know throwing an interception against Muskingum isn't exactly the definition of adversity but it was nice to see him rebound from the pick and throw a touchdown pass on the very next drive.

Darn, If only I had participated in week 1, I'd imagine I would be in 2nd place  ;D
It would be a shame if that Reality Check guy forgot to participate this week.

Mount is winning this week, by 30+

raiderpa

Fulford was most likely not upset by the interception because it was right in the hands of a receiver who muffed it into the hands of a defender.  It should have happened twice, but the first time the db was so shocked, he dropped it.
