Mount fans-

I encourage you to look at "wlu.edu" to learn about Washington and Lee University. You will see that it was founded in 1749 and will learn a little about the school that is coming to town. Fascinating history. Looks like a really pretty campus.
I always like to know something about the schools we are playing. Of course, this is someone new so we probably don't know much about them.
Again, "wlu.edu". Good stuff!

St Thomas posts 97 today...threw 30 passes and 5 for 5 on 4th down. I have to wonder was all this necessary?  I never liked the HC there, not I really dislike the fool and have no respect for this person.
Mount has hung some big scores on folks, but kicking FG's on 1st down and backs running out of bounds instead of into the end zone is regular behavior when scores get it of hand and shows respect and sportsmanship, IMO.
If I were the opposing coach, I would have punched him instead of shaking his hand.

I have been lurking and Saint Glen managed to pull me out of my cave.  A lot of teams get their doors blown off.  Very few teams (if any) up 64-0 at halftime will still have their starters in and still be throwing in the 3rd quarter.  Only one would be throwing in the fourth quarter.  Only one would score with 7 seconds left to go up 97-0.  If an opposing coach or player ever hauled off and punched that jackass in the postgame handshake line, I'd gladly contribute to paying bail.

I can't wait for the day that the shoe is on the other foot, and I hope somebody tries to hang 100 on him.

Would love if Eureka somehow knocked them off Saturday. That would be sweet justice!

W&L's excellent Sports Information department will have game notes up probably tomorrow. They contain some nice information about the Generals' season as well as key players and some interesting facts about recent W&L football history. I'll see if I can remember to post the link when it comes out, but while you can find a link to the athletic department from wlu.edu, you can go direct through generalssports.com. With the men's soccer team through to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament it's a fun time to keep track of the news.

Pretty tough talk from a guy who has had each of the 11 seasons he's been a Head Coach end in a loss: http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2017/11/12/st-thomas-dominance-too-much-football/

Saw on Twitter they run triple option

Not just the triple. Every form of option you can think of. That being said, and as much as I love my Generals, they aren't national players.

Interesting, I can't remember Mount ever playing a triple option team so it should be a fun matchup to watch. I'd think Mounts team speed on D will make it tough sledding for the generals though

Capital ran the triple option from 2013-2015.  The last year they ran it they rushed for 393 yards against Mount's defense which allowed an average of 47 rush yds/game vs the other 14 teams they played on their way to the national championship.  Cap rushed for more yards against Mount than Whitewater and St. Thomas combined.  And Cap's leading rusher individually had more yards (83) than any back against Mount until the semi-finals, and the second longest run from scrimmage (36) allowed by Mount all year.  It allowed Cap to keep it close for a half...only down 21-7 which was probably the closest Cap was to Mount at half in the last 10 years.  But Cap got away from the game plan in the 2nd half and like usual things snow-balled and mount ripped off 34 unanswered points in the 3rd Q.

Caruso is a total piece of crap.  His BS is well known in Mount circles, and there is absolutely no love lost when it comes to that jack hat.

St. Olaf Coach is a former Assistant at St. Thomas under Caruso.  Strange...
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

So he ran up 97 on a former assistant?  Wow, what a horse turd.  Did the former assistant do something to make him angry??
Hopefully what goes around comes around.  Supposedly LK ran a score against someone who had really pasted a really weak squad a week or two prior, just to teach a lesson.  But that is heresay and I have no corroboration on that.

Boy I hope our D line rests up this week. I took a quick look at W & L stats .... I think it was 34-78-2 passing for the season...THE SEASON! They must think a pass is when go around a slower car on the freeway? The main running back has 1600 yds for the season and he rushed for 199-250-280  the last three games. I hope we can rotate some linemen and lb's . The d backs may have to have some one wake them up between plays. ;)

5-7" 170 lb freshman....in the option?  Good luck young man

All indications are that they have a really good relationship. I'm really curious what Coach Kilian would say, but I imagine he's not taking it too personally as he probably has a similar mentality to Caruso.

so his explanation is that he was shooting for the fourth #1 seed?  I guess the NCAA wasn't impressed with 97-0, better go for 110-0 next year Glen.

I'd love to see another Raiders beatdown of St Thomas on National TV in mid-December

No Mount players nominated for the Gagliardi?  Weird

Only one OAC playoff team, but there is a good chance at two trophies coming home in the OAC.

Berg OL Brock Riggs has to be a favorite for the Piesman....great call by the Berg OC and former Mount OL - Jason Lewis

I don't think the candidates have been released yet.
