Caruso is a jerk, but at least he gives everyone else in D3 a common enemy.  He's like a modern day KC Keeler complete with the Stagg Bowl performances.  He just needs a few more D1 transfers and some shades to really drive it home.

Ha!  +K for this gem.  :D

You guys created this monster Duffman. Shouldn't have made fun of milquetoast Don Roney all of those years. Now I'm parking in fire lanes and teasing zoo animals. We were perfectly happy going 6-4 every year until the name calling started.

I actually think W & L will have some success in the first half until the Mount D adjusts to a scheme they really never see.  They will blow some plays up with tackles in the backfield, but W & L is not going to abandon what they do, so I am estimating they will have some chunk runs mixed in with the losses.  As far as scores, IF W & L can pop a few option #3 passes off of the option read, I think they could punch in a score or two.

If Mount's offense is playing as expected, I would guess a 49-14 type score.

It sounds somewhat like a cop out for a fan of the losing team to say he would be ok with this kind of whooping, but pushing 2 in against UMU would make me pretty happy. And yes, W&L is going to run the option. If (yes, there's my optimism) we fall behind by 3 or 4 tds it simply is what it is and we aren't all of a sudden going to catch up to UMU by trying to throw. In general, I think the athleticism gap is just going to be too great. The option as an esoteric scheme can be quite effective when playing teams that are more athletic than you... to a point. Once that point is passed, it just becomes a one dimensional offense that better athletes don't have to play perfectly to stop.

If W&L is within 2 scores at halftime I'd be really pleased. So long as the guys play hard and don't beat themselves, which is very much what happened at the beginning of our last playoff game, I will be satisfied. Winning an ODAC crown is enough for me to consider this a great season regardless of what the score turns out to be Saturday. I hope the guys get to visit Canton on the trip and have a great experience.

Obviously, Sophomore D. Fulford should be a nominee.

Next year he would make a great nominee. I don't think the voters would give a lot of consideration to a sophomore, and that doesn't really bother me too much personally. He'll have his shots.

None of the 5% listed below would be athletes @ Mount Union now would they? Vince Young even had to score higher, given the minimum was 17 back then

You MIAC guys are real jerks, just like your coaches.

Well, not Fasching I guess. He's a good ol' Minnesota boy.

You can't bring the fight to the OAC if you leave your snide remarks on the MIAC board!

St Olaf actually moved the ball quite a bit better than a number of MIAC teams against UST.

This is true. In fact, STO had nine times as many net rushing yards as the Johns did against UST!

St Thomas posts 97 today...threw 30 passes and 5 for 5 on 4th down. I have to wonder was all this necessary?  I never liked the HC there, not I really dislike the fool and have no respect for this person.
Mount has hung some big scores on folks, but kicking FG's on 1st down and backs running out of bounds instead of into the end zone is regular behavior when scores get it of hand and shows respect and sportsmanship, IMO.
If I were the opposing coach, I would have punched him instead of shaking his hand.

I have been lurking and Saint Glen managed to pull me out of my cave.  A lot of teams get their doors blown off.  Very few teams (if any) up 64-0 at halftime will still have their starters in and still be throwing in the 3rd quarter.  Only one would be throwing in the fourth quarter.  Only one would score with 7 seconds left to go up 97-0.  If an opposing coach or player ever hauled off and punched that jackass in the postgame handshake line, I'd gladly contribute to paying bail.

I can't wait for the day that the shoe is on the other foot, and I hope somebody tries to hang 100 on him.
I think if either one of you went to fight Glenn, he'd probably take the punch and talk you into becoming a lifelong friend within 3 minutes.

Yeah, I noticed jamtoetommie came here hat in hand while he insulted me on WIAC for suggesting Caruso MAY be insane.

I don't believe I've posted on the WIAC board in quite some time. I did see where USTBench, not me, called you a bozo on the MIAC board. I'm not going to suggest that he was wrong, but there is ample evidence for that outside of any comments you've made about Caruso.

True, true. He's an interesting cat on the field. Ties back to his life story, not that many want to sit down and here it all. But a heck of a friendly guy off it. There are 2-3 MIAC coaching staff he and some on the staff spend quite a bit of time with in the offseason. Some of those the recipient of some beat downs over the years.

I would also say he and the program are always as congratulatory and gracious as one can be when faced with defeat as well. A loss hasn't gone by where a congratulatory tweet is made to the other team on top of genuine interviews and accolades afterwords as well.

But, if putting a bounty out for punching him is your thing, then I guess that is between you and whatever deep rooted problems you are facing.

#90 there is ready to haul off and punch Caruso just in case. Caruso probably insulted Coach K's mother too.
