 Some of the commentators about the Fulford situation should start looking up recipes for crow. Get ready for a hearty helping boys.

Only thing I will say about the Fulford situation is that I hope VK and LK have all of the info about the situation before playing him, at least for today. I agree that it could be a stupid HS mistake, but it will reflect badly if it turns out to be something serious. I would've taken the conservative route and waited at least a week. By all things I've heard, he has shown to be a positive presence in the school community.

For the game, I like that Mount had to play against the weather and a disciplined defense. It forced us to run the ball. My concern with what I saw in ththe running game is that Hill is not finishing his blocks. He doesn't hold them long enough to allow the RBs get more yardage. On a couple of runs Petrucelli had the ability to get 10 more yards but his guy would come up and cut the runner down. My only criticism today.

I just have to say that it is painful listening to the student announcers. First of all, it's Petro-sell-ee, not Petru-chell-ee. It also bored me that they kept saying Petrucelli instead of Choat who was actually carrying the ball. I understand those mistakes for away teams, but not your team.

I love this time of year and saw some interesting games today with Wartburg winning by 1, Linfield owning Hardin Simmons in all phases and NCC holding St Johns down. I picked those teams to win, but not the way they did. This years playoffs seems open for many!

With half of today's first round games being played in heavy wind and rain, there were definitely some surprising results.  I think more people were expecting the two Ohio teams to meet in the D3 playoffs to be Mount and Witt, not Mount and Case.

Picking eleven of the day's games correctly put New Tradition, Sir Battlescars, and Mr_Mom atop the 2017 OAC Playoff Pickem after round one.

Spreads for Round Two will come out Monday night.

Barring an exciting comeback by Illinois Wesleyn it looks like Case is coming to Alliance next week. Boy, the additon of Kevin Burke to the Case Western coaching staff over this summer couldn't have been timed better. I'll bet the defensive coordinator will be picking KB's brain all week about how Mount's zone-read offense works.

edit: to clarify, i get that he know's "how it works" I just mean a better understanding of Mount's specific flavor of the offense is run.

I demand that Kevin Burke recuse himself from CWRU' game prep this week.

I seriously wonder if he imagined it a possibility of coaching against Mount Union in his first year of coaching on the outside. It's great to see this almost novelty-feeling matchup.

I love how certain posters were demanding Mount do this, and pontificating that the kid shouldn't play, how bad it makes Mount look, etc.  Everyone should pay attention to what a certain poster said a few posts ago.  Don't be that crowd, don't be that guy, don't be that overreacting PC D-bag that think they are owed anything.  Social media at any given moment is either the greatest thing ever invented, or the bane of all humanity.     

Mount played "ok" with trying conditions, and I thought W & L was solid in all phases of the game.  Two well-coached teams who dealt with the weather card as best they could.  I all but wrote Case off after last week, so color me impressed with their performance today.  That was as good as a bad weather performance as was delivered today.  Should be a fun game next week, and it's pretty cool that the teams are about 45 minutes apart.

Early spread predictions for Mount/CWRU?

There were a couple of crowds at the Mount game yesterday. On the one hand you had the older alums/season ticket holders/faculty etc. And on the other hand was the "townies". Among the first group I heard a lot of "I don't think he'll play and he shouldn't" and "he won't play today - he'll sit at least this game". Among the second group it was the opposite view. I heard "my cousin had this happen, he just forgot with all the moving and a new job" and "they said it was (this, this and this) and then a year later a kid presses charges, but he was gone by then" my favorite was "they got him Jakemidies (SP), he'll take care of this" and "now that Jakemidies (SP) has it - it's over he'll set em straight". What is this - the "U"? Makes it sound like a Sopranos episode. The physical plant guys were among the second group and I asked who "they" was they kept referencing - no answer. 

Guy in front of me talking about it to 2 other guys - "they said he won't get anything from this, its just a misunderstanding", the other guy "I work with Attorneys all day and this isn't anything. Paperwork issues happen all the time", the other/other guy "Plus first time offender - he ain't getting ****". And the best of all - "it isn't serious. he is in the paper all the time, they could have found him if they wanted to all they had to do was open up the paper".

The guy next to me said "don't people realize - it isn't about what he did, its what he did after" that matters? Guys were talking like since it isn't a murder rap its no big deal (**PAT - the one guy said "D3football.com makes it sound like he killed someone in their write-up***).

I don't recall anyone demanding Mount do anything - so much as stating what they thought should be done. But you wanna come in here and call me a PC d bag - Hey sidekick PM me. I will come to you and this PC D bag will make sure you eat from a tube and rely on the kind hearts of others to wipe your arse and empty your piss for the rest of your days you POS.
