To all mount fans-

As we get ready for the playoffs, as usual, we have a few guys dinged up. That is, they are in a state of ding!
Often on this board, time is spent discussing these injuries in some detail. I'm fairly certain the opponent finds out on their own. However; let's not give them any information. Why state " Joe Player has a high ankle sprain and will likely not play or is doubtful at best"? I see this type of comment very often.
I'll probably get some flack for the above comments. But, as an old Mount alumnus, I want my team to have every advantage possible. Would love to see #13 in Alliance.
So, good luck Raiders.
And thank you for listening. Now, back to your regularly scheduled discussion!

Oh piss off. I post a guy is hurt - and by the way it's freaking obvious since he has been doing it for 2 weeks - get a -K and a lecture. Piss off. Its the F'in playoffs. The opponents watch these games. Christ stop making it sound like we are the safeguards of nuclear secrets at Los Alamos. Hey - be quiet - keep it a secret that Mount likes tackle people. Shhh - don't say anything on here.

What - if an injury is mentioned then the person mentioning it doesn't want #13 in Alliance. Look when Mount passed the ball today - OH S#!# - I said they passed the ball! Another friggin secrets out.

What's with the negativity? It's playoffs win move on, name of the game. WInning at the half with giving up one long play be happy!

First time post long time reader MUC grad

I've read this board for a few years and this is my take on HSCoach:

1)  VERY knowledgeable.
2)  VERY objective.
3)  Because of the above, something of a perfectionist when it comes to football.
4)  Because he's a Mount fan, something of a worrywart about Mount.

Sometimes his worries are well-founded.  (See Whitewater's dominance on the line.)

Sometimes his worries are wasted.  (See a season-long concern about Taurice Scott, as HSCoach so eloquently expressed it, "p*****g down his leg" when the big games arrived.  Scott didn't.)

I'm concerned that HSCoach says Mount will NOT win at Oshkosh.  But I remember last year's game vs. UMHB, when The Coach was pessimistic like most of the rest of us and Mount JUST MISSED.

So trust, but verify.

Not saying Mount can't win it this year.  Just saying the Mount team we've seen the last few weeks isn't winning it.  Too inconsistent on offense.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

It's just too bad St Thomas' victory today wasn't by more points. Since it'll be their last win of the year, such a small margin will keep the HC up at night.

If we get past UMHB, we will destroy you. The felons are done.

Yea and if it weren't for height, speed, agility, and talent I'd be in the NFL.

For the second week in a row the playoff game in Alliance was fast paced and over fairly quick.  As we were leaving the game today the OSU game that started the same time was only in the 3rd quarter.

Look at the game replay - seriously. Humor me and watch it. Before JEM fumbles (literally walking into position) he is grabbing his left wrist. He did this last week before he fumbled the first time and again the second and then came out grabbing the same wrist and trying to tell the trainer he was fine. JEM is injured. As soon as I saw him grab his wrist today I said to my daughter "his wrist is hurt. he did tha last week and fumbled"...and he then proceeded to fumble. Not saying anything is broken but he is having problems holding onto the ball.

des,

Definitely! What you said - I didn't watch replay.

Not sure why you would bring up my post on discussing injuries at this time. That was posted before the playoffs began. Guess you had nothing better to do. Why don't you have one of your friends read it to you again. It's not as bad as it sounds. Thought we were rooting for the same team.
Ah well, I'll close by saying - Go Raiders!

Can't believe your almost profanity laced tirade. We discussed my post a while back and I thought it was put to rest. Apparently not.
If you re-read my post, I state that injuries are probably already known by many people. I have said nothing along those lines since the playoffs started.
Besides, I only mentioned injuries. No mention of tackles or anything else.
Some of the comments sound very juvenile, not professorial.
Maybe I'm a little over zealous but I have been a fan since my freshman year in 1953.
You and I have talked before. I have never been anything but respectful of you and your position.
I didn't deserve your lashing out at me as you did. It's OK, I'll get over it. Oops, already did!
I'll close by simply saying, no matter what you think, Go Raiders!

57 - You are right and it was not directed at you. I saw that CB dug through and reposted it. It was directed at CB. Look if you (CB) want to say something - type it out, post it and let the chips fall. But digging through and reposting someone else, with nothing new added, is rather chicken shiz. The Rush Limbaugh "ditto" approach is fine when following a new post - the "yea what he said" - but from 2 weeks or more ago. Come on man.

Thanks, I needed that. You know I'm on your side. Let's concentrate on Frostburg St.
Don't know much about them but will find out more as the week goes on.
Glad you and I are on the same team. Go Raiders!

I'm not complaining either.  I find DIII football to be more entertaining than DI and NFL.  No long TV timeouts.  Players that play with passion.

The Washington and Lee game ended a little past 2 pm and the rain stopped for the walk to the car.  Yesterday's game lasted a bit longer than the week before, but was entertaining with both teams playing hard.

I must admit it was a bit odd to see Kevin Burke before the Case game yesterday wearing a shirt with CWRU on it. I overheard Kevin mention that he was really enjoying the coaching job and it was a very short drive for him.

See Kevin back at Mount Union Satdium was great even though he wasn't dresses as a Purple Raider.  As a QB for the Purple Radiers Kevin was 35-0 in Mount Union Stadium and now as a visiting coach he is 0-1 there.

After the Ruth catch/non-catch call in the 2nd qtr, the WRMU kids said that there would be replay available for the quarters, semis, and Stagg Bowl.  I know that it's been semis and Stagg Bowl before, but did they add the quarterfinals this year as well?  If so, I would assume that would mean some sort of ESPN8 covering the games this coming weekend.

Anybody know if that is the case, or were the WRMU kids were slightly off?

Thanks

Interesting on the replay stuff. Too bad we didn't have it Saturday. Hadn't heard anything about it for the quarterfinals. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Get 'em Raiders!

1.  He sure looked to be down prior to Saturday's fumble.  2.  He was carrying the ball in his right hand before he "fumbled".  If his left wrist is hurt so bad that it makes his right hand not work, then he should get that looked at.
