Oy!  The drama keeps coming!

As I stated previously, once Mr. Fulford shows up in court in December down in FL, this matter will be dealt with, and there will be no felony on anyone's record.  Unless of course the court decides to do something differently with Fulford than it did with the other individuals involved in the juvenile matter.  I guess it's possible ???

I hope, and TRUST, that if Fulford is actually in danger of being convicted of felony battery, that LK/VK would not even entertain the thought of keeping him on the team.

I suspect that there is A LOT about this situation that we don't know and in the end, it will be much ado about nothing.

I doubt that LK would risk the reputation of the program and school for something like that. He's being inducted into the College HOF next month, no way he lets this kid play if he thought that there was a chance he would be convicted.

Getting inducted into the college football HOF does not make you infallible. OJ Simpson was in it when he decided to slash the throat of two people (acquitted, but still). Joe Paterno was complicit in allowing child rape in his locker room.

This is just giving a kid with a pending felony the benefit of the doubt. Which a TON of coaches have done, even after they were convicted.

I try not to pedestalize people for their professional accomplishments anymore. Doesn't make them a saint, just means they're good at one thing.

little known fact, Larry Kehres, OJ and Jerry Sandusky all used to hang out at the 'Hood.  Rick Pitino once invited them to the Bier Haus, but he was too busy in the bathroom to come hang with the boys.  Charlie Manson actually taught LK his offensive playbook, no lie.  We all know Dahmer was from NE Ohio, strange coincidence?  I think not

Duuuuude. When you put shaving cream in a teammate's helmet you don't get charged with felony battery. My guess is it was beyond the pale of a few laughs and generally pretty terrifying for his victim. Glad I wasn't your teammate, you were probably a nightmare.

I still am

in 2017, I wouldn't be shocked if shaving cream in a helmet resulted in a felony charge.  Imagine the horror and embarrassment caused by those actions, triggered!!!!

Nightmare?  Doubtful.   I was thinking arrogant ass was more accurate.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

A deferred sentence isn't out of the realm of possibility for a first time offense, even on a felony battery. The problem is him getting there without picking up a bunch of charges along the way, not that it matters because it's being prosecuted as a juvenile case and will be sealed anyway.

Mt. Union can set the bar a bit higher than this and still compete for a title every year, and if they can't, maybe the NAIA is a better fit.

I'm not even sure what to say to that. You have said some ridiculous things around here my friend, but this one might just blow the rest out of the water.

If the kid takes a deferred sentence in December that doesn't mean it was dismissed. It means he has to earn his way to a clean record, which, he doesn't seem to be equipped to do at this point. I also won't be eating crow if the case is dismissed, because that happens for a variety of reasons: victim refuses to testify, prosecutor works out a different deal, etc. Additionally, it's a juvenile case, we won't get to know the outcome unless someone spills the beans.

Finally, I am in no way comparing LK to Sandusky (who I never brought up), Paterno, or Simpson. What I'm saying is, he's not Mother Theresa just because he's getting inducted into the HOF. Hero worship is for children, the guy is just trying to win football games, not end world hunger.

I fee like it's good that merlecanlas wasn't someone important in history. Can you imagine if he was Elliot Ness or something?

Cop: Oh no! Al Capone's robbing the Chicago Board of Trade!!
