Now I remember why Ric left the message board.

I don't know that this was ever designed to be an echo chamber.

Watching UST be on the wrong side of a MUC beat down multiple times I can say I have a lot of respect for the Raider program. What I don't respect is lowering the bar as to who has the privilege to be a Raider because a few more teams have developed the ability to knock-off MUC. MUC can still compete for a title year-in-and-year-out without resorting to JUCO enrollment standards.

I love how the Mount Union apologists keep focusing on the player, downplaying the severity of his alleged crimes. I think most people understand that young people make mistakes, which when rectified serve as learning experiences. Mount Union is getting heat not because of what the player has done, but rather how the university has chosen to respond. The damage has already been done in that regard. You can quarrel over whether his alleged crimes are actually  "serious enough" to have him sit out the playoffs. That's not the point. He has a felony charge, has been driving without a license, and through some sort of error missed a court date. Sitting the player won't end his career--he's only a sophomore. However, by playing him, Mount Union is saying that winning is more important than promoting law and order. Stay classy Mount Union. For all the time we Tommies spend ripping on the classless Johnies, I think it's fair to say that they (and the vast majority of DIII teams) would make the right choice given this difficult situation. Again, stay classy...

I bet if St Thomas would have won once and not been beat down by Mount each and every time that they played, there would not be so much hostility from a couple of Tommie posters.

What you call "hostility" most would call decency.

Getting beat typically elicits a tip of the cap from the Tommie posters on here. We don't spend time whining about refs or what-have-you.

But if you think it's chill to start kids with pending felonies who skip court dates then have at it. Just saying it's not going to reflect well on your program, especially if that's what you need to do compete for a title.

If winning a game or two is the cure for this observed "hostility" then why do we still hate Bethel so much even though we've beaten them consistently in recent years?

So lets say he plays. Lets say Mount wins..and wins it all. Yep - lets say Mount puts it all together and wins it all this year. The ESPNers calling the game - who never talk about the game but talk about how special these little guys are and they play without scholarships (have to mention that 53 times per half)....how many times do we get to hear "Fulford, who has had one heck of a year, will surrender to Broward County Juvenile Court soon after this game on an outstanding Felony Battery warrant...". Yea, that's a great look. Oy.

I really hate to break in, but does Mount Union have a game this Saturday?
If so, would love to hear some comments about our chances, how good the other team is etc.
I'll wait on the edge of my seat for some responses. Thank you and good day.

Mount could play Fulford, Poorman or a 1957 graduate at QB and roll this week.

Then 👏🏻 Play 👏🏻 Anyone 👏🏻 Other 👏🏻 Than 👏🏻 Fulford

why?  if he wasn't in the wrong prior to playoff game one, then what has he done to be suspended?

57 - Yep, Mount has a game. As far as how the chances are...depends. Is Mount's team half as distracted right now as we are?

merle - Mount doesn't roll this week. Frostburg is an excellent team. This is a legit "just win and move on" game...especially with the distractions.

And it won't be a one-off thing, especially if the game turns on his performance. It'll be turned into a meme and carted out for the next few years. Plus it hurts everyone in DIII. We're supposed to be better than winning at all costs. It's hard to tell people you're about building character while turning a blind eye to these sorts of things.
