Maybe Fulford isn't public enemy no. 1 after all. Surprise, surprise.
Getting tired of all the inane comments by people from the other boards. Hey, we can't beat them playing football, let's try something else. Some if the comments  from the lawyers  sound like the rankings of someone about 10 years old. Watch out, they may take their ball and go home!
Mount Union will deal with the situation. I am a fan, will always be a fan. Love this team no matter what. This is my alma mater. You can say nothing that will lmpune the integrity of this fine school.
Blind loyalty? Of course not. But let's keep everything in perspective. This school, established in 1846, will not be destroyed by recent happenings.
Damn, I'm mad! Why don't all of you do-gooders crawl back into your holes and worry about your own, in some cases, pathetic teams.
We, Mount Union, will survive. Students will graduate and maybe, just maybe, we'll even win a few football games.
I'll close my ranting by saying I still bleed purple and a big Go Raiders!!!!!!

This has never, ever been the case over the last two weeks.  Please don't make the news over the last two weeks out to be some kind of character attack on Fulford.  The starting quarterback of the highest profile team in the division did some stuff that was newsworthy, and so news was reported.  Nobody is or was ever out to get Fulford.

I just realized that we are now at the one year anniversary from the 2016 quarterfinal. That was a great time for the OAC- two teams playing (and winning) on the road. Here we are a year later, with only 1 team in the playoff, and that team embroiled in a mini-scandal. Doesn't look quite as good. But everyone needs to remember that things can and will get better, for both the conference, and Mount Union specifically. Did Mount Union handle this whole situation flawlessly? Probably not, as many of you Mount followers would even admit. But that doesn't mean that Mount is somehow a supremely sketchy program. Almost every school at every level of athletics is guilty of poor judgement every now and again (BW had a self imposed postseason ban a few years ago even), it just happens that Mount's happened at a really, really bad time. But once this is resolved (and it will eventually, one way or another, be resolved), Mount will go back to business as usual. Maybe with Fulford, maybe without him. Until then, let's try to hold off on commentary one way or another, and get back to talking football! Ultimately, that's why we're all here. He all have a weird passion for non-scholarship college football! And we will never have better company! (and as a non-Mount fan, I can say that, with notable exception, I really like the Mount posters here). So let's just let everything play out, and see if anything new happens. Because almost everything that can be said has been said at this point, and I miss the days when I would check the boards in the morning, and not have 5 new pages to read lol!

What's the outlook on the new JCU coach? Are things going to keep rolling without much of a drop-off from the Arth era? Looked like they started playing better as the year went on. I don't know how much y'all last from last year's team but it's good for any conference to have a few competitive teams. I had a dream last night that St Olaf took a huge step forward next year and beat us, so I guess I should be careful what I wish for.

I think Olaf has a little more to go before that happens!  :)
I think he's going to get the team back to a spot where they can compete for the playoffs. There were definitely some growing pains this year (the Berg game), but the beat down they put on Otterbein and the close result against Mount makes me hopeful that things will be alright!

The last several days have been an attack on Fulford, the Kehres's and Mount Union. Read the posts. Also, read the rest of my post. The part you picked out was in response to a story in today's Alliance Review. About his interaction with kids. I respect your opinion on Dlll matters, but if you don't see an attack on Fulford in some of these posts, you're just plain not paying attention.

Prior to the final week, St Olaf was actually at the top of the bottom tier of MIAC teams. They beat Hamline, Carleton, and Augsburg, although they lost big to everyone else.

Finotti was a high school coach previously right? His style adapted to the college head coaching role ok?

There have been very few attacks, but lots of critiques. I don't think anyone is targeting the player. Heck, I don't even mention his name. Most people are critiquing Mount Union and its handling of this situation. Mount Union's silence isn't doing the program any favors.

There are definitely fans attacking Fulford, but our coverage has been intentionally squarely focused on the facts.

Great comment sir!  Here's  hoping that next year at this time we are talking about how great it is that the OAC has two teams in the quarterfinals.  Of course, as long as Mount is the conference champ, and JCU is a strong, one loss, C qualifier.   ;D

Those pushing the "public enemy #1" theme are certain Mount posters on this board, doing so sarcastically to try to demonstrate how overblown this thing is, in his view.  In following this for two weeks, that's not a theme anyone else has been pushing.

He was! St. Ed's in Cleveland. He also spent some time at U. of Michigan under Harbaugh. It seems to be adapting, but I'm going to give it a few more years before i decide fully!

is that really a punishment for BW?

Just one outsider's view. I absolutely do not associate the Fulford situation or Mt's Handling of it with any sort of historical, program-wide behavior. This is a one-off situation involving one player and it's as simple as that.
Unfortunately, whatever that line of "Uneasy lies the head..." applies here for the reasons already mentioned. Mt is king of the D3 hill and Fulford is the QB.
You just have to weather the storm.

Your stories on this whole mess have been objective and very fair. I'm not talking about you guys. My comments were directed to the posters on the board. They are certainly there for everyone to see. Also, thanks for acknowledging that there were attacks on Fulford.
I sincerely hope all this ends soon. We do have a game against a tough Frostburg State on Saturday.
