What's with Mt fans referencing the great Mt Defenses of 2012 and 2015? Can you only have a great D if you win the Stagg? Come on, you only had to beat the Tommies for cry eye.

Mt's D in 2011 was a nightmare.

If I'm not mistaken, Mount beat the mighty Whitewater also in 2015.

A shell of its former self.
Which only lends more credence to my question, what's with 2012 and 2015?

I referenced '12 and '15 due to the fact that Mount wiped the floor with St T.  Those teams might not have been the best Mount teams of all time, but they sure did pound St T.  I mean they really just beat up on poor old St T both of those year.

Maybe Fulford isn't public enemy no. 1 after all. Surprise, surprise.

This has never, ever been the case over the last two weeks.  Please don't make the news over the last two weeks out to be some kind of character attack on Fulford.  The starting quarterback of the highest profile team in the division did some stuff that was newsworthy, and so news was reported.  Nobody is or was ever out to get Fulford.

There are definitely fans attacking Fulford, but our coverage has been intentionally squarely focused on the facts.
But you do realize the "facts" you have, may not be the "facts that are".

Not sure why you're air quoting the word facts.  Court records are facts, no air quotes necessary.

When the facts come off a police blotter or a court docket, reporters are good to use them. If new facts later come out, it is the papers job to use those as well. But a new outlet that doesn't work from newsworthy information on a court docket or a police blotter is simply not doing its job. Take it from someone with a degree in print journalism and, once upon a time before I learned better, a job as a professional reporter.

Those are not air quotes those are in fact real quotes.  No the court records cited here is the position taken by the prosecutors.  Prosecutors have been known to stretch the truth and they have also been known to be wrong.  The old saying is that every story has three sides yours mine and the facts.  In almost any case if you listen to the testimony half way through you would find a person guilty because all that has been presented is the prosecutions/Plaintiffs case.  If you wait and listen to the defense/defendant you many times will come to the opposite conclusion.

I am speculating but I think Fulford has told the coaches and administration his side of the story and with that they feel comfortable enough with his side of the story that they have not given out any further punishment.

For so many what I expect are intelligent people posting here many just assume that Fulford has no defense to anything that happened and assume on no "facts" that he must be guilty.  Amazing.

No, dude.  "Declaration of Forfeiture; Defendant Failed to Appear" is not a position and it's not a claim made by a prosecutor.  That's an indisputable thing that happened.  "Bench Warrant Issued Failure to Appear For Arraignment" is not anybody's position.  That really happened.  That's what was reported.  Facts.

I have no doubt that there is more to know about all of this.  Mount Union and Fulford's lawyers have, according to the reporting, been given ample opportunity to comment.  They've declined (or given trash non-statement statements).  You can't fault the reporting here.  Diligence has been done to report the situation fairly.
