- It will be an exciting game and as someone pointed out, 3 of the 4 semi- finalists can win it all

I think any of the four in the National Semifinals could win the Walnut & Bronze with two more wins.

Just left the Wable-Harter Building after watching the team leave for the Canton-Akron Airport. Two busses, one for the offense and one for the defense. I wonder where the kickers ride?
The guys are ready as I'm sure the Oshkosh guys are ready. So, as one of my graduate school professors used to say - "ceterus peribus" (hope I spelled it right) - all things being equal.
They're ready. We're ready. They have an offense. We have an offense. They have a defense. We have a defense. They're UW -Oshkosh. But we're Mount Union.
Best to both teams. Go Raiders!

My prediction....

Mount wins with a bomb to Hill with a few minutes left.  Final score...Mount 42 UWO 38.

Or the cold affects both offenses' passing games, lending itself to a low scoring 17-14 game.

In other words....who the H#$$ knows!   ???

Hey MUC- funny question about the kickers.

FYI, I don't think UWO is all that big on the line. I haven't looked in a while, but when they played UWW I remember being pretty surprised at their average weight along the O line.

I'm not one for thinking "chips on the shoulder" = victory, but for those that are, I'd imagine a case can be made that UWO would have one of those suckers as well since they lost a tight game to UMHB in the Stagg. I'd imagine all those 30-year olds on UWO are pretty committed to their last game being a victory.

But only 3 of the teams playing tomorrow are capable of winning 2 more games. ::)
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

just fyi: national weather service forecast shows 17 mph winds at gametime, gusts to 27 or so, along with 24 degrees. could make passing precarious.

Shouldn't they be more concerned about the kids walking on their lawns or that new rock'n'roll music?  I've heard that UWO players have to walk up hill, both ways to class everyday

Oops! Never thought about UWO having a chip on their shoulder. Makes sense. OK, scratch the chip on the shoulder discussion.
Maybe I just assumed UWO was big. I remember the WIAC teams always seem big. Anyway, I like to quote the old coach.
Glad you liked the kicker question. Merlecanlas says they ride the short bus. I wonder what that is?

I am not amused.  Long passes, one of Mount's strengths, could be . . . adventurous.

But while I'm here:  Since everybody here - and I mean EVERYBODY - has more X's-and-O's knowledge than I do, I have a question:

If Oshkosh plays a lot of 2-9/3-8/ whatever coverage, might Jim Tressel's brilliant game plan in the Ohio State championship victory over Miami be effective?  That game plan made liberal use of the CKQK* and since NOBODY expected it** and Miami NEVER adjusted, OSU triumphed.

*  Craig Krenzel Quarterback Keeper.

**  Craig Krenzel had never been confused with Michael Vick.  (Though he might have had a step on Bernie Kosar.)

Pretty dangerous to distill this thing down to big and slow vs. small and fast.  Both teams have plenty of both size and speed...you don't get to this point without it.

Forgot something. When the nurses give the old (30 year old) guys on UWO their pre-game meds, what's in them. Hopefully not, snicker, snicker, performance enhancing drugs. Just curious.

Not just a question of big and slow vs small and fast, but of technique and ability. Who fits in their system better?  Just my own observation.
