Just watched 2nd half. Wow. W can give props to Fulford, Oline, RBs, Hill, Ruth and Herrington - they deserve it. We can give kudos to Dline, LBs and DBs for stepping up in 2nd half (but not to Mitch O'Hara who could have sealed it with a pick 6!!! Kidding young buck) - because they earned it. BUT - the big applause goes to.....Coach Kappas. Down 35-10 - conventional wisdom says throw, throw deep, throw often. But he stayed with the mix and didn't vacate the run. UWW went away from the run down 15-6 at Mount in the '15 semis, and they still had 2 1/2 quarters to play. 35-10, 3rd qtr, 9:42 on the clock...and he stuck to his guns.

On another note....2 point conversions =  :( :(

I see what you did there; way to pick up your teammate before somebody came along to kick him.

In the 1st when UWWWWWWW went up 6-0 they ran 17 and passed 2. From the 2nd on it was 19 runs and 23 pass.

Fair enough. They did not maintain a 17-2 run/pass ratio. When i hear of a team going away from the run, I picture them throwing it all over the field with little balance. To me, when you lose by 30 and your last 42 plays consisted of 19 runs and 23 passes, I'm not sure that's going away from the run.  But it doesn't matter, I already resent you for making me relive that day anyway!  ;)

just how I told you all it would go

I would also like to give a shout out to UWO - their HC and players that ATTENDED the post game presser. That is sportsmanship and leadership. Its easy to go through it when you win - heck its fun to go through when you win and weren't supposed to (hint - hint). But after losing like that and sucking it up...that sets a great example. Maybe Frostburg State should take some notes.

Now as to the comments...well the backhanded "we made them coach today, they didn't beat anybody 70-0" and I believe he added 'like they normally do'. How else do you take that besides "they never have to coach but they did today" or "they always get cupcakes but not today". Well for 'first time coaches' who have never had to do that...they really did a good job in coming back from 25 down to win! Go Mount!

Tickets are easy at the gate.  Big stadium, plenty of seats, Texans won't bring many...

Really? Did you see how many we had last year? What makes you say this?

To UMHB2001:  Comment on fans was not a slam, it was just to say the place won't be filled, as you would not bring 5000 and tickets will be there.  For that matter, Mount won't fill their side either, but may travel well as this is the final Stagg at Salem and Mount fans have a love affair with the place.

As far as the "they had to coach" comment, I felt this was a jab that was unnecessary, however, my answer would be, "Well I guess you stopped coaching midway through the third quarter when you needed it."
It is has been widely discussed through the years that the Mount staffs have been masters at halftime adjustments and have very rarely been out done in the second halves of games.  Yesterday was another example of that.  So, Mr.UWO head coach, you got outreached yesterday when it really mattered. The better quote would have been, "We got out played and out coached in the second half."

Anybody know who's the home team Friday. Or, if you know who's the visiting team, that's ok too!
Thank you for your time.
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

The bad news... Jawanza fumbled in the redzone. The good bews... i dont think it was his fault. Looked like it was a qb read and Fulford tried to pull it back out at the last second. We definately have to get better safety play next week or its gonna doom us. I could watch the game on my computer ok, but when I streamed it to my tv it timedout every 3 seconds. Whats up with that!
