The decision to go for two was based on the five point rule, which I wouldn't have applied until later in the fourth quarter based on the game being high scoring.
The clock management issues are partially a product of few competitive games.  Clock management isn't an issue when you're up by 35, for most, anyhow. 
Taking the KSU job is about more than money.  It may be a crappy FCS job, but it's still a good stepping stone if VK wants to coach at the highest levels.  Not many coaches get the opportunity to become HC at the FCS level straight from D3.

Kent is FBS believe it or not

Could UMU or UMHB compete against Kent State (serious questions, I haven't seen the Golden Flashes play for a few years)?  Or would it be a total mismatch, KSU having scholarship players and all?

Wesley has beaten bad FCS programs in the past, so it's probably not crazy.

Being a great game time coach is one thing, but to be successful at any level (but especially D-IA), it's all about recruiting, systems in place, support staff.  I believe VK would have that, with the best coach/recruiter/tactician/systems guy that ever coached as his guide.

In the meantime, word is there is a ballgame tomorrow, and I will see all of you that are either there, or headed that way tomorrow.

Watched quite a few UMHB highlights on YouTube and saw a great deal of jawing and theatrics toward other team.  I would call some of it taunting, but it was not flagged.  i do not like any of the stuff that kids do (signaling an incomplete pass when they break one up) and that stuff.  I wish the refs would flag it more often.  This is not the NFL and when a receiver is overthrown by five yards the DB does not have to take credit by waving the incomplete signal.
Celebrating a good play is understandable, but when it goes over the line, even slightly, it has to be called.  Hill got a flag after Mount's final score by clapping his hands in the face of a Titan, and he deserved it.
Maybe I am just too old, note MUC57, but to show up an opponent is unsportsmanlike and should be penalized.

I hate to agree with he kick return prediction, but the Raiders have not done a very good job on special teams coverage.  I think we may be -7 in this category.

For anyone not going to Salem (like me) and who lives near Westgate Mall (like me) and doesn't have access to ESPNU (like me) - I have been assured by the Manager (Jen?) that they will have the game on. She even checked to make sure they get ESPNU, since they don't get ESPN3. Regardless, I am going there.

As far as the game and special teams - to the Mount kicker: Kick it as high as you can and no deeper than the 20. At least the coverage should be there by the time it comes down. If not - put it through the back of the endzone. If not possible - put it on the other side of the field from their beast of a returner.

Heck - if all else fails squib it up the middle. Just don't give up anymore 60, 70 and 80 yd returns.
