Some may say Fulford's TD pass should have been picked and as such, Mt got a bit lucky. The same applies to UMHB. Hill beat the D and was open, UMHB was a bit lucky Fulford underthrew it.

Anyone hear from Merle? Does he need bail money?
How about MUC 57- is he ok?

I was having the same two thoughts!  Great minds think alike - and so do ours.

BTW MUC57 almost called it. He predicted a 10 point win! Nice work!

What I love about this program is that guys step up all of the time and are just waiting for their turn. Nick Brish has worked hard and waited for his time only to shine brightest when we needed him. Being at the game, you lose some perspective on the individual stats in a game, but he seemed to be everywhere making an impact.

I'm sorry that Dear and Groves had to miss this. I saw the look in Dears eyes during the tunnel walk and it was a different ticked off or focused look on his face. I didn't even hear like you all said about him not playing. I knew something was up. They've made a big impact on this team as players and leaders...thank you!

I'm getting to the point where I feel that I enjoy these championships more every time, never take it for granted Purple Raider fans!

I know our coaches are already hitting the recruiting now, and I'll keep things updated from twitter as I see them.

I'm fine. Thanks for asking. Just enjoying number 13. Can't wait until August. Remember,

Congrats to Mount Union!

Thanks for bringing another title back to Ohio.

Seems you can't forget the series stands: Mount Union 5. Wesley 0.

The pass for the touchdown is something we have seen all year. (I have seen 9 games, and you?)
A great QB throwing to a great receiver with great hands. Been done before. No knockdown, no interception. Just a TD,

The safety was caused because of the pressure from the defense, strong rush and good coverage in the secondary. Number 1 put them in a hole - he did not cause the safety. Credit ti UMU.

So the teams were about even? Seems Mount was a little more even than UMHB. The Crusaders scored zero (0), Mount scored 12. Some of the individual stats were close, but only one stat really matters.

UMHB had a great year. A good team in a good program. They'll be back next year, back in the playoffs, back contending for a national championship. But last night, Mount Union was, not so surprisingly, Mount Union.

There's always next year, for all of us. We start over in August!

I think the difference in the game revolved entirely around QB play. The MHB guy got shaken and was afraid to cut the ball loose on many occasions.  You do not get 8 sacks without the QB holding the ball too long. Sure the coverage was most likely a big factor, however, he still was undecided too often and took a hit.

Speaking of recruiting, some are saying the super athletic Alliance RB is a strong candidate for Mount .  Great grades, sister attends Mount, he may want to wrestle too, and has not gotten any huge offers  yet. (This is all rumors that I pass along)  I know the kid is one heck of a back and also could line up at LB as well.

K & J's Dad,

Once all the celebrations are completed, it is time for returning player's analysis for 2018.

In the meantime, GO RAIDERS. We never take it for granted, we just look toward the next opportunity to
make it happen again.

Congrats to all the seniors, you should be proud! :)

Live in the area and I've heard nothing but good things about Duce. He's worked very hard and lead an average football Alliance football team to the playoffs IMO. I really hope he goes to UMU and succeeds!

Btw, let the debate begin as to who was #2 this year...UMHB or Oshkosh? I seriously think it could be Oshkosh. I think their defense would have held UMHBs offense and done enough with their creative offense to be better. What do you all think?

Are we concerned about any underclassmen (two in particular) moving up to scholarship football?

I think a strong case could be made for UWO as #2, but I would be extremely surprised if the voters moved them above UMHB.

I really hope not. I'm not sure that they would get anymore recognition than they are at UMU. I heard another interesting tidbit last night sitting by a football family member. They didn't say it word for word, but said that they just wanted Jared Ruth to get healthy so he can play again next year. Will he get a medical year for the one he missed?

I'm not saying anyone should or will vote UWO as #2, but does anyone else think they were just as good as UMHB?

BillyRayJimBob

That was a discussion topic at our table during the post-game reception last night.  Consensus of opinion was to place UW-O at #2.
