Matt Campbell is a better HC candidate.   I suspect Grinch will be the DC once Schiano moves on.

Campbell and Manning to OSU as HC and OC with Grinch as DC and I will root for the Buckeyes - but I will never wear those colors.

I WAS a Michigan fan from birth (ok I was 6). I tossed all the Maize and Blue out due to UM committing an ethics violation. Sorry but kicking Lloyd Carr to the curb and going after RichRod behind WVUs back and all the under the table - tossed it. Have not watched a Michigan game since the day Lloyd left.

Alex Grinch to OSU. Oh well, I guess if the State's best, most-dominant, 13x National Championship program isn't hiring, settling for the Buckeyes isn't a bad move. 

This move is a step up for Alex even though he is moving from defense coordinator to possibly a lower position for the Buckeyes.  Current Buckeye DC Greg Schiano has been a top candidate for a FBS head coaching position including the Tennessee job which he lost because of false rumors.  The odds are Schiano will eventually leave OSU and Grinch will then slide into his place if Alex doesn't land a head coaching position before then.  Grinch isn't replacing anyone and the position is available because of a FBS rule change that effective Jan 9th permits FBS teams to add a 10th assistant coach.

Alex's WSU defense has a great reputation for pass defense including defending TE which is something the Buckeyes have been burnt on in recent years.

If they keep hiring former Raiders I may have to actually not puke when I see those atrocious colors. 

On the Emma for Merle trade - make it a case of Rhinelander Bock (I always liked it) and some curds and its a deal.

you know you would miss me.  Send some Guggisberg swiss up to Oshkosh and you'd have Emma all to yourself

Just thinking back to the UMHB game, UMU defense was outstanding! I had friends worried about playing them again and I told them I wasn't as worried not only because of the revenge factor and playing for a championship, but because of Coach Pete. He's a very good coach, but he gets way too conservative in big games (something We complain about sometimes) when it matters and doesn't trust his players to make plays. UMHB never really opened up their offense during the playoffs. I think he didn't trust his freshman QB and trusted in his D and special teams too much. VK and players were quoted as saying that they were very prepared for UMHB offense.

My point is this... I won't complain again when UMU is in the playoffs and scoring points while running their offense against quality defenses. If you want to win championships, you've got to know what you can run against quality teams. People have complained in the past about UMU running up the score and I used to feel for some teams, but it's going to be hard to make me feel sorry for other teams anymore after watching UWO let off the pedal and allow UMU to take the semifinal game from them.

I'm excited for what the next year will bring for the Raiders!

One more thing for now... looking forward to next season, I didn't realize Rose-Hulman was pretty solid the last 5 years.

Not sure what they bring back, but they should be better than NC Wesleyan.
