Berg picked up a big "commitment" from Massillon Perry yesterday.  Zach Blackiston was a 2x first team all-ohio DL (once in D2 and once in D1), pretty good wrestler too.  Pretty good player

He probably went to a game and saw that Charmin soft Berg D and realized he coulda started there as a HS senior.

As much as I like to see good local players come to UMU, I don't think Blackiston fits out D. We've moved to a 3 linemen front and he doesn't fit that and not quick enough to be OLB. He'll be good in a DE spot in a 4 man front. Although, I am a little surprised that UMU wrestling program didn't have a pull with him. Mount gets a lot of those guys and let's them play both if they want.

not sure if he is going to wrestle at Berg or not, but he could be a very good DL once he adds some weight (wrestled at 182).  He'll be a good one at Berg

hopefully Berg is making a concerted effort to shore up the defense.  It's only been holding them back for about a decade

Oh I agree, he'll be a nice player for them once he adds weight. He has the frame to play at 225 and still not lose mobility.

Howard Frazier from Alliance will be heading to JCU to play football. He played QB and SS for Alliance, but not sure where he will play at JCU.

Rutgers, rather than Maryland.

Thank you for correcting me, Pat.  I really did know that, honestly, but don't know why I confused that and wrote Maryland/Durkin. :-[

Both schools who wear red and white and don't belong in the Big Ten. :)

Agree 100% ;D

Took my middle daughter to basketball practice tonight. See a big kid walk in to the gym half way through. Tall - 6'3 (ish), broad shoulders - holding a football. Turns around....wearing a Mount sweatshirt and what looked like an Avon hat (I was across the gym). Starts throwing - great arm. Good footwork. Nice throwing motion - definite heat on the ball. Takes off the sweatshirt and.....a black Nike "Money Manziel" t-shirt. Oh well. I guess some don't get both talent and brains. Good luck at jcu  ;D ;D ;D :o :o :o

Isn't his father employed by Mount Union?

Greg Schiano is rumored to be interviewed for the New England DC position after Sunday's Super Bowl.  He has a history with Belichick and could easily be the hire, which puts recently hired Alex Grinch as the logical choice for DC at Ohio State.   Too cool.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I think Grinch was hired with the full expectation that Schiano would leave......especially after the Tennessee cluster.
