LK personally recruited Seaman too.  It was just as annoying as the Poorman hype

That's right.
As I recall, the theory was there is no way LK is getting on an airplane for a kid that can't win the title at UMHB.

to be fair: the old men of Alliance might have said "no way LK is getting on an airplane for a kid that can't win a ring."  With UMHB giving out participation rings, Mr Poorman almost guaranteed "a ring"

Submitted for your consideration:  You know the situation in pro sports where a team that wants to trade for a good player has to accept in that same trade a bad player with a hideous contract?

Well . . . . . . . . .

If UMHB wants to get Luke Poorman, shouldn't it also have to acquire Merle as part of the deal?

What was the QB discussion like going into the 2017 season at Mount?

Clearly Fulford had an amazing season in 2017 and never appeared to give the coaching staff a reason to play any other player. Did he have an amazing off season/training camp or something?

very funny.  who's Mount getting in return?  Carl Robinson III is mysteriously gone from UMHB, is he on his way to Mount?  Nobody seems to know where the future of UMHB is or where he is going?

but wouldn't UHMB be clamoring for the backup to Merle?

Fulford was by far the most talented.  Davis had proven the most on the field despite being the third guy.  Poorman was loved by townies.

Not sure Merle would clear waivers. Maybe he wouldn't pass his physical.

If Poorman was only loved by townies, why did he start 4 games?

I remember VK saying that the difference between the qbs was very small going into the 2017 season. I think fulford has a small edge to get the starting job and then really cemented his status by putting up greet numbers all year.

But that could have been coaches speak, and maybe fulford had the job hands down during the off season

Funnily enough Luke mentioned the LK plane ride during his interview announcing his transfer.

Cause LK is like King Townie after living there for 40 yrs. Kidding. Entering Fr year it was Poorman (1) and Fulford (1A). They rotated with Poorman starting 4. He got hurt and Fulford stared. He got hurt, enter Davis. Coming into So the reports were it was Fulford (1) and Poorman (1A) - Fulford had the edge and got the nod. He started until playoff quarters due to *stuff*.

So, yes Poorman started 4 games 2 seasons ago and 1 last season. I never got the impression that Fulfords status as starting QB was ever in danger (from the HC or any one else on staff) at any point during season. My feeling was that Fulford put distance between him and Luke in preseason workouts and then put up numbers in games. If it were not for the *stuff* Poorman would not have had a meaningful snap all year.

And there was much discussion on here when the *stuff* happened that if Fulford was out - Mount would have a QB who had not taken a meaningful snap in a year. Just trying to point out that while Poorman is talented and a really good QB - he wasn't the starter for a reason. If he and Fulford were as close last year as they were Fr year I have no doubt they would have rotated early. They didn't, even though a lot of fans on here (me included) felt Poorman would have been better at times.

Mr. Ypsi

Don't want to go way back, and I'm sure some would remember: was merle anywhere near this negative about Poorman BEFORE he transferred, or is he just 'pissing' on the 'renegade'?
