They are also required to grow mustaches.

Hmmm.  I see Marietta is ahead of Mount Union in the OAC.  When was the last time THAT happened?

UMHB 91
Albright 7

Caruso thinks UMHB is pathetic. He could've easily found 9 more points to score.

So wheres all the chat about UMHB being a poor sport by running up the score? How does Poorman NOT get in a blowout like this? He had to play. The whole bench had to play. Did they kick any Fgs on first down? Step out at the 1?

Poorman played. He went 5/7 for 96 yards.

Well UMHB only threw 21 passes on the day. The only thing I see in the box score that makes me wonder is...if your up 51-0 at half why is Markeith Miller (starting RB) still in the game to score in the 3rd qtr (after you have already scored once in that qtr) to put you up 65-0? Especially when I see in play-by-play that the QB was on bench and Poorman was in for that drive. If anything - up by 51 at start of 3rd the starters should be in PJs on the sidelines. UMHB certainly can't claim they lack depth and had to play them - even if it was a road game.

But they returned a kickoff for a TD and a Punt for a TD. Albright had 5 TO's. At least 2 of the INTs were inside their half the field and led to scores. But look at the drives for UMHB - 2 plays 86 yds - TD, 3 - 63yds TD, 2 - 80 yds TD, 2 - 58 yds TD. Add in the number of drives 40 yards or less that led to scores (5 drives) and it paints a terrible picture for Albright. Looks like they just couldn't get out of their own way let alone out of their half of the field. Plus UMHB returned 3 punts for 164 yards - that's 54 yards on average. Ouch. Could UMHB have taken foot off gas - sure and they should have found a way to do that. BUT - when the other team seems to escort you into the endzone, what are you supposed to do?

I can almost hear Caruso: "why didn't you go for 2? If you did that Albright would have appreciated both the extra work and the press on giving up a 100. You let Albright down and really owed it to them as a sign of respect to go for 2. It shows you were always expecting them to come back"

Nice comments and graphic during the Iowa-Iowa State game yesterday, stating that Matt Campbell was 54-1 as a player at Mount Union.

Yeah, when Poorman came in it wasn't a switch to the full 2's.

I tend to err on the side of letting kids play, especially early in the season. Didn't bother me.

Week 2 results of the 2018 OAC Pick-Em have been posted.  Scores were all over the place, ranging from 5 to 12 of the possible 13 points.  With that 12 were both gobash83 and Raider 68, the latter sliding into the overall lead.

Spreads for Week 3 will come out Monday night.

I feel BW should have broken into the top 25 after their two impressive wins... of course, they have a good measuring stick next up.

Pat Coleman

Hopefully they'll upgrade that Week 1 opponent in the future.
