132-4-1 is the record of nfl teams with a +5 turnover ratio. The Browns account for 2 of those losses as well as the tie. At lest they are a statistical leader in some category. Sheesh. When can we find an Oline worth their wages? Thank God there is good football to watch on Saturdays.

Coach Wable had a fine turnout for his calling hours and service. Like some of his former players, I didn't really like him much while a player. He said we would start to come back and see him more as the years went by. He was right. Funny how coaches (and parents) get smarter as we get older. He was a demanding man who simply did not accept excuses, for anything. I appreciated that more and more each year. In his last decades we were friends. I wanted to take him to the Muskingum game this year, but he didn't make it. I am so happy he got to see LK get inducted into the HOF.

You're right. Coach Wable did have a good turnout last night. I was there early. LK had not yet arrived because, according to VK, Larry's mother had died earlier.
Had several hats on the casket, Navy and Mount Union. Should have had one on the coach since, every time I saw him, he wore a Raiders hat.
I've always thought that, no matter what accolades one has received, the nicest thing someone could say is that " he was a nice guy"! Well, Coach Wable was a nice guy! Rest in peace! ✝

On the Luke Poorman, UMHB situation. I had this rolling in my head ever since Poorman announced his transfer. I see Luke watching the Stagg Bowl on the sidelines. Looking at the QB play for UMHB and thinking "I am better than all three of them". Then I see him in the film room looking at the game. He is watching all the short throws, missed throws, and missed reads and thinking "they have everything in place to be back...and I am better than all 3 QBs". Unfortunately for Luke - he wasn't the only QB watching the QB play. In a way I feel bad for the kid - he just wants to play and thought he found a place to do that. But I will admit there is that "you have turned against the Machine" side that laughs and thinks - "how'd that work out for ya?". Not saying I don't wish him well - but if he plays and plays against Mount I will cheer louder with every sack, incomplete and pick.

UMHB used 3 QBs last year so maybe Luke plays a stretch in the next few weeks. But the kid starting now looks good. BTW: wonder if "Mr Poorman" has moved to their board to point out "he just throws it up, no touch, he's been lucky, Poorman is far superior"?

On the former Mount QB front I see Walsh has played 2 games and been outscored 72-10. They played Ault at QB in game 1 (10 of 18 for 78 yards and a pick) and Gassman in game 2 (11 of 18 for 95 yards and 2 picks). No sign of Dom Davis. At least in the case of Poorman he can say the kid in front of him lit it up. Whats going on at Walsh?

Another former MTU QB, Jake Reid, has played fairly well for Wabash as well.

Week 1 win vs. Hiram:  18/20 273 yds 3 TDs
Week 2 win vs. UW-SP:  11/21 141 yds 1 TD 2 Int

Mount Union fans

On a sad note, a Mount Union freshman soccer player was killed Sunday when a tree fell and smashed their car. Sydney Kleptach was a GlenOak grad with many note-worthy accomplishments. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and all of us in the Mount Union family. (Story in the Review and the Repository).
And a Wabash senior football player took his own life over the weekend.
Today is Patriot Day as we remember those who died on 9/11/2001.
Too much for 1 day! May all rest in eternal peace! ✝✡

I think you are spot on with this. Title Contender, national audience for a couple games, chance to stick it to Mount. All things that Luke (and his dad) wanted.  I just can't imagine him sticking it out there if he didn't last at Mount.

I hope he transfers to Wilmington! Do the reverse Jim Ballard and bring the Quakers to the National Championship picture!!! The views on www.d3football.com would be massive for The Decision Part II!

I don't think one game against an inferior opponent has completely locked in jase's position as the starter though. I think we'll have to at least wait until conference play to declare poormans transfer a failure in terms of gaining PT.

Not viewing it as a failure yet. But given that Albright is inferior and a win was in the bag early - yet they still stuck with the other kid. It makes me wonder how much time he will get against a better opponent. I think most coaches with a QB competition that didn't seem resolved as of the scrimmage 2 weeks ago would like to see both play early against the "weaker" teams. Mount rotated Fulford and Poorman because they were undecided on who was the best fit. Maybe Poorman sees more time or starts against Sul-Ross. They seem about the same level as Albright. So maybe Jace starts game 1 and Poorman starts game 2. Or, maybe, Luke doesn't have the force with him on this one.  8-)

Good point. I guess I was just thinking there wasn't a lot of opportunity for jase to look bad in that game. It'll  be easier for the coaches to give Luke a shot if Jace struggles early against good competition imo. Maybe not though.

Condolences to the entire Wabbash community. I'm sitting in Brussels airport readying to catch a flight back to the US and I was shocked to read about the sudden passing of Evan Hansen, a senior Wabbash captain, who died suddenly on Monday, Sept. 10.

Wabash had celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, honoring Hansen and 18 other seniors for the Little Giants. A two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference selection, Hansen was a four-year starter for Wabash and compiled 12 and a half career sacks.

BW as 48.5 point dogs against Mount?? I definitely think they're going to lose, but not sure if I think by 7 TD's! And that means a lot coming from someone who hates that team in Berea! lol
