It is most definitely worth it....can my heart take it? Well - not as old as MUC57 - but still not so sure.

Look at this way - for $10 you can either see a great game, a great game and a Mount blowout (against JCU no less) or...well I won't type that.

And because I awoke this morning and felt the chill in the air I was thinking of Autumn. We all know what the Autumn Wind is:

College GameDay just did about ten seconds on John Carroll/Mount.  Corso went with JC in honor of Don Shula, Herbstreit picked Mount because it's . . . Mount.

Terribly exciting.

I'm ready for some good football. UMU cafeteria is packed.  UMU fans look to be ready. LK is holding court outside the stadium in his golf cart. Great weather for the game.

Nice opening drive by JCU to draw first blood.  7-0.

2 possessions in Mount's offense is not sharp at all so far.  JCU D line doing a nice job early.

Not improving much.  O'Hara sets them up deep in JCU territory after a pick, but the offense stalls thanks to pressure from the D line and excellent tackling.
Missed a short FG to squander any momentum they had.  The only positive plays have been Fulford scrambles so far.  Thankfully the Raider D is playing well.

NOT.  SHARP.  7-0 after 1.

Officials just missed the easiest targeting call in the history of football.  Instead Fulford gets flagged for unsportsmanlike presumably for pointing out to the officials that they missed the easiest call ever.

JEM channeling his inner BJ Mitchell puts a little juke move on the JCU D and scampers in for a 27 yd TD catch.  Barnett misses the PAT so we have to figure that's the last we'll see of him today on the heels of the missed 25 yd FG.

Britt has made two excellent tackles as gunner on punt coverage to pin JCU deep.  Little plays that are big.  And yes, I'm looking for any positives after Mount is forced to punt again.

Wow.  JCU puts in their backup QB to run it and hopefully run out most of the clock on 3rd down and Robinson rips the ball out and runs it back for a TD.  13-7 Mount.  HALF.

Mount D has held JCU to 78 total yds including 17 yds total in the 2nd qtr.  They've also forced two turnovers (1 for a score and 1 setting them up deep).  You can't ask for anything more from those guys.  They're carrying the team on their backs so far.

Mount D stops JCU on 4th and inches at the Mount 30.  Fulford is just not as accurate as normal today and it's hurting the flow.

Petro gets going a little and the Raiders get a big FG from Barnett (way to bounce back!)  16-7 mid 3rd.  Herrington had a beautiful double move and got 10 yards behind the D but was overthrown.

16-7 end of 3.  JCU at the Mount 45 and driving.  Need the D to step up again.

JCU gets a 12 yd run on 3rd and 20 to set up a 45 yd FG.  16-10 early 4th.

JCU forces a 3 and out.  Fulford is 15-37 passing so far today.  They're going to need him to make some throws if they want to hold on here.

JCU forces another 3 and out on 3 runs.  Mount's offense is struggggggling.

4th and goal from the 5 upcoming for JCU.  3:47 left.  Cangenelli scores, but holding on the WR is called.  Incomplete pass turns it over on downs next play.  The WR didn't need to hold Berry, Cangenelli would have scored anyway so that stings for JCU folks.

JCU forces 3 and out again.  JCU gets it back with 1:47.  I'm gonna say this and I can't believe I am....this is up there with the game at UMHB as the worst offensive performance I've seen.  It's not that bad, but it's probably silver medalist right now.

Unbelievable.  Berry comes on the corner blitz and rips the ball away from Moeglin and returns it 55 yds for a score with under a minute to play!  23-10.

Mount recovers the onside kick and takes a knee.  23-10 FINAL.  That was an absolute GRIND.  Sheesh.

they sound lethargic so far...

They look it too.  Not so much the defense.  They're playing well.

Someone mentioned a wake up call earlier, if this isn't it so far I don't know what is

Agreed. Both defenses are playing really well, in fact.

Great recap Dr. Acula. The only additional point I can make is twice JCU tried to run a truck play with Moeglin spilt out wide to the left to have JCU having 3 wideouts to that side. Both times UMU covered the 3 wideouts with 2 DBs and they rushed the QB for little gain first time and turnover for TD second time.

I'll tell you what:  It's REALLY nice for Fulford to have last year's Oshkosh game in his back pocket.
