I didn't know Ruth was out. Changes this up for the JCU D. Lets them focus more on Hill. I know the 2's can play - but Ruth on the field and healthy spreads things out.

It looked like Haynes and Harvey ate up most of those snaps.  Good players, but not Jared Ruth.

The JCU defensive line gave Mount's O line a lesson today.  Fulford was not as indecisive as he was under the gun and hurried.  He missed two wide open TD's because he was pressured.  I cannot think there are many better defenses than the two I saw today.  Both of these teams, IMO, could go deep into the post season with the defensive efforts that were shown today.  Mount's O line could cost them another shot at a championship if they don't get better, you cannot count on two defensive TD's every game.
Canganelli was the player of the day, again my opinion.  Mount made big plays, but the JCU running back carried his team's offense.  Moeglin did not even close to the passing day that I thought he may have, he was pressured as much as Fulford.
Berry's strip and return was an amazing individual effort.  I saw them blitz him twice and he had a sack and a sack/strip.
Both punters did a great job and were assets to their teams.
From where I was, I thought that Harvey was targeted on the one play, will have to watch replay.
Great game, and I am a loyal Mount fan who did not think the teams were that far apart.  I did not realize that Ruth did not play.

In my opinion, the replay will confirm your take.

Yeah and #4 getting knocked out of the game didn't help. But even if Ruth played Fulford would still have needed to get him the ball, and he was struggling today. The sheer amount of throws behind receivers too far  (especially the wide open guys) or too low was uncharacteristic, I know JCU brought pressure and had guys in his face but 12 just looked off today.

Also the online just couldn't get the run game going...  so that didn't help. It was just so strange watching a mount offense struggle like they did today. In fact on one drive our qb tried to hand the ball off and there was no running back, very un mount like.

Oh well, no harm no foul. Certainly gave our defense a nice test.

I hope Mount gets a few competitive games the rest of the regular season because they need the competition to get better.

Crikies!  Were Mount to get even one more competitive game from the OAC, I would not feel very comfortable round 'bout semi-final time.

It's still on STO as well as whatever local channel they put it on.  The big difference is it's no longer on STO later tonight like it used to be.  It's probably not on until Sunday or Monday.

There it is ... STO Monday at Noon.  Thanks! +k

ha, I mean, who gets married in the fall?? If you insist on a fall wedding at least do everyone else a solid and have it be on Friday night. This week I am having to miss the following:

JCU-Mount
Army-Oklahoma
Texas A&M-Alabama

No big deal.  Three enormous blowouts, where the underdogs had NO SHOT.  You didn't miss a thing.

The OAC Pick-Em spreads seemed a little better this week; our picking against them was not.  bluestreak66 led the way with 12 of 14 points; smedindy, hsbsballcoach7, and wesleydad were the only other players in double-figures.

gobash83 holds onto the overall lead, sharing that top spot with smedindy [and CW].

Spreads for Week # 5 will come out Monday night.

Thank goodness Mount won yesterday. I wouldn't know how to start the chant, "Whose House? Streaks House!"
Great game, tho! ☠🏈

By the way, how was the wedding you and your "brother" attended? You two probably had a better time than at the game. Mount Union Stadium is not a very friendly place for visiting teams. I do hope JCU wins out and makes the playoffs. Best to the Streaks on the rest of the season.

Its easy: Wipe, look into toilet bowl, "Whose house? - Streak house", flush!  ;D ;D

To all the Streaks out there - that was a great game. Kudos.

Now that's funny. I give you one +k because that's the most I can give.

Two big stories in taday's Repository on the game. JCU QB Anthony Moeglin's comment on the Louis Berry sack, strip and 45 yard Run for a TD - "He's a great player, a great guy. He's really fun to play against". I talked to him at the OAC Media Day and found him to be very personable. He also, obviously, is a very classy guy. No excuses. Damn, that's refreshing! Wish them the best for the rest of the season and into the playoffs. ☠🏈

I just got back from the game.  Skunk had the day off, I wasn't traveling so we were able to take it in.  From my  perspective JCU is one solid team.  Their D is for real, and Moeglin is one tough SOB & is pretty accurate when he has time to throw.  People were questioning on whether they were ranked too high at #15, but I would say there are there if not a bit better even than that.

Fulford was just a bit off all day.  JCU had something to do with that, but he also missed two WIDE OPEN TD passes down the field.  He & Hill were jawing at each other on the sideline at one point so it looked to me like there were some issues out there.  The one O coach grabbed Fulford and pulled him away from the argument to also give the kid a piece of his mind.

I hope Mount gets a few competitive games the rest of the regular season because they need the competition to get better.  A win is a win so I will take it!  Great crowd today and that is what Saturday's are suppoed to feel like.

Thanks for the recap. I wasn't there and didn't watch. In your opinion did Mount get out with a win in this one or is it one of those that the score doesn't tell the story? Just curious

DR, I will say that if Mount plays up to their capabilities this game would have been more of the 35-14 type score.  I fully recognize that JCU had something to do with Mount's performance, but I think our QB was "off" today, and I hope that was a one game, temporary thing.  WRMU hit upon it I just saw a lot of throws low, behind, and not your typical light it up Fulford performance.  I think we will see him much better as the season progresses.
