In what must have been a tough week, best of luck to the Johnnies.  Let's bring this one home for John.

Scroll down and look at the QB photos on the right.

No wonder Poorman enrolled at UMHB.  His twin brother is now playing there, ferchrissake!

In the write up they actually said "Luke Hammack" had a td pass. The process has begun... the UMHB qbs are merging into one super qb.

As expected this one was over before half time.  Petro with 12 carries for 119 at half.  JEM does not have any touches and I have not seen him check in yet.  Not sure what's up there.

Oh, and Fulford is 11-13 for 245 and 5 TD in the first half.  Not bad.  Lou Berry with a pick 6, D with a strip and recovery at the goal line.  Good first half although Cap has been able to throw the ball some on them.

:-[  I had such high hopes for my MUC-CAP spread, particularly when the Crusaders were sitting 1st and Goal at the Mount 1 yard line.  Deep sigh!

Iowa State's starting quarterback this fall?  Sixth-year senior Kyle Kempt.

Unfortunately for Mr. Kempt, he suffered a minor injury and has now been Wally Pipp'd.

Matt Campbell may have the single best true freshman QB in the country.  He's Purdy damn good.

As a big fan of puns and Iowa State, the Tommie in me feels really guilty about giving you +k for this, but you earned it.

Lance Liapold and Buffalo are Bowl Eligible and #1 in MAC East right now.

[A hearty "Thanks!" and +k to Raider 68 for pointing out that I had swapped the scores on the Texas Lutheran-East Texas Baptist game.  Scores for all players have been corrected.]

A strong showing on the OAC Pick-Em this week as eight players scored in double-digits and nearly all got at least half of the 15 points.  smedindy led the way with 14 points with Sir Battlescars close beihnd with 13.

Not much change on the overall standings as wesleydad is still on top, with gobash83 still but two behind.

Week # 8 spreads will come out Monday night.

  *  As K & J's old man points out, Lance Leipold appears to have Buffalo turned around.  I though it would happen a tad sooner but there ya go.

  *  LL's latest victory is against Akron, led by Terry Bowden.  Tb is doing some SERIOUS living on past glory.

  *  Meanwhile, in the very same MAC, Jason Candle is 3-3 this year at Toledo.   Hmmm.

  *  Oh, right, D3.  Well, the up-to-the-minute polling at d3FOOTBALL.com has St. Thomas ranked at #7 and Bethel at, umm, #35.  (I think - I ran out of fingers and toes.)  This despite the fact that both teams lost to St. John's by roughly the same margin and are otherwise undefeated.

Hmmm.  Let's see how Bethel does this week vs. the imaginatively-named Cobbers (yes, COBBERS!) of Concordia-Moorhead.  The Cobbers (yes, COBBERS!) lost a couple weeks ago to St. Thomas 46-7.  If the Bethel Royals (am I imagining that I have seen them referred to as the Blu - no "e" - Gold?) wallop the Cobbers (yes, COBBERS!) by, say, 48-7, will the rankings still be #7 vs. #35?

Who knows?  Maybe Bethel will lose.  Or maybe the Tommies will lose AGAIN!  (Not bloody likely.)

  *  Speaking of the Tommies, does DesertRaider know that Mount Union has been more merciless against an opponent this year than St. Thomas has?  Do Tommie fans know that?  Hmmm.

  *  Hey!  I just learned that a great D3-type program premiered on the same night as the mother-of-all-D1-type programs (The Beatles) premiered on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.

Not sure how serious your question is but I doubt the voters will care about Bethel/St. Thomas comparative scores until the teams play head-to-head.

By the way, Bethel lost at home to St. John's, not at St. John's.
