The bracket, as usual, looks spot on.  I was/am hoping that John Carroll is placed in the Brockport bracket.

Agreed. They are in a geographical location where they can play many East, North or West teams. I'd like to see them given the opportunity to advance until they meet Mount... Hopefully that wouldn't be until later rounds.

I think the third guy is a better passing option.

You might not have the wheels, but you're a better passing option.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Hmmmm.....could we see one of the receivers turn into "Cecil Shorts 2.0 2018"?  I have no idea if any played any other position in HS, but it made me think of that year against Wesley.

raiderpa

Shorts, I believe, was an option candidate because of his athleticism, but could throw decently. Burkes is a fine option candidate, but lacks throwing accuracy and zip.
Keeney appears to have zip and better passing skills , but wheels are average. Will be interesting to see what game plan presents.  This is if Fulford is unable to go.
I have no clue as to prognosis, he could be fine come Saturday.

The potential for a John Carroll-Frostburg matchup is a very interesting looking at the D3 team's potential bracket.

"With D'Angelo out of the game it was going to be difficult for us to pass. . . ."  (Vince Kehres)

clearly, the dropoff from fulford to burkes is enormous, but i suspect the weather had a lot to do with what vince means.

In another tough week to pick winners, matblake was able to navigate the D3 minefield for 13 points; desertcat1, Sir Battlescars and theaprof also managed double-digits.

But there was little change at the top as gobash83 held on to win the 2018 OAC Pick-Em over Raider 68 (silver) and FCGrizzliesGrad & wesleydad (bronze).

The slate is wiped clean for the post-season OAC Pick-Em and you don't have to have played the regular season to participate.  Spreads will come out Monday night.

Mount vs JCU in the regional final.  Winner of that one will play Brockport who has put up crazy defensive numbers.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

He's one of the great ones. And he'll be back for Week 2....if he's not back for Denison.

Last 2 regular seasons for @purpleraiders QB D'Angelo Fulford (@D12Angelo) have been impressive:

2017: 131-182 (72%) 2,316 yards, 42 TDs, 1 INT (253.9 rating)
2018: 146-212 (69%) 2,290 yards, 32 TDs, 1 INT (208.5 rating)

Only 4 QBs have a 200+ rating in MTU history

Love those Browns!
Sorry.  Having free Veteran's Day food at BJs in Columbus (Polaris ... back to Maryland tomorrow). But without researching as I should, isn't Denison the last in-state team to beat Mount Union in a playoff game?
Help me MUC57!

The Raiders defeated Denison in the 1st round in 1985 in Alliance. Without looking it up, I believe the score was 35-3. That was Mount's 1st playoff game and only game against Denison.
I had my free Veteran's Day lunch at Applebee's in Alliance. Good stuff. Go Raiders!

From the Mount Union website:

FroDenison, located in Granville, Ohio, is 8-2 and making its second-ever NCAA Playoff appearance and first since 1985 as champions of the North Coast Athletic Conference

In 1985, the Big Red played at Mount Union Stadium and lost 35-3 to the Raiders in Mount Union's first-ever NCAA playoff game.

It will be the 30th meeting between the teams with Denison holding a 19-9-1 lead in the series. The team's last met in 1989 with Denison scoring a 24-21 win in Alliance. Denison was a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference from 1907-1983.

Oh great, they are leading in the series...

ADL70

Beat me to it.

According to Denison's site, their only previous playoff appearance was in 1985, when they lost to Mt Union 35-3.

They did however beat Mt Union in regular season in 1988 and 89, 41-27 and 24-21 respectively. And hold a 19-9-1 series edge.

From Mt Union's site I don't see that they lost to an Ohio team in playoffs ever.
