Yes, the 2nd units are not going to have a happy week.  Very disappointed with the effort of both O and D second units.

I have no problems with Centre playing hard for 60 minutes.   Especially in the playoffs when there is no more "next week" to prepare for.  If it was the regular season then you need to regroup, move on and keep everyone healthy for next week.

Yes, can't blame them.

Smaller than usual Skunk clan had our usual great time.  My 41-10 prediction was gone by halftime.  Mount did a good job of getting Fulford reps, and then getting him out of there before the half.

Not to be that cocky fan, but I really don't see anyone left on Mount's side of the bracket that can give them a nail biter, down to the 4th quarter game.  The defense is playing nicely, and now that Fulford is back the offense will be getting vertical multiple times in the game.

On to next week!

My prediction of 42-7 was gone by halftime as well.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I agree.  The only team their half of the bracket that concerned me was JCU and that obviously didn't go as planned for the Streaks.   Thought Brockport could have been a decent semi given their experience of a semi last year in Belton TX, but they pissed down their leg today as well.

Biggest fear now is no one preparing Mount for a very tough Stagg regardless of who it is.  MHB , UWW or SJU will all be a HUGE step up in competition from anyone Mount has played  all season.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Wow.  Keaney hook slides on 3rd and 1 for no gain.

The next Mount QB is not on the roster

Hopefully Fulford stays healthy and hopefully by the time the next QB has to step up they will be a sophomore.

Fulford won't get healthy until season is over.

QuoteHarvard, Notre Dame and Central College (Iowa) remain tied for second on the all-time consecutive seasons list, with 42 apiece. None of those streaks are current, however. Second on the active seasons list is University of Mount Union, in Alliance, Ohio. Mount Union last had a losing season in 1979.
Congratulations.

UMU defense is jelling at the right time. In today's game they had the following consecutive defense series
Interception
Blocked punt
Interception
Interception

Glad you pointed that out. We notice Mount's offense because of the points they score. But the defense is pretty damn good as well! I really hate to say what I'm about to but I'll say it anyway.
Most teams haven't seen a defense like Mount's. Excuse me while I go hide after that one. 😃 🍺

I watched the Johns Hopkins 2nd half... IMO, they win next week to face us in the semi final. Their offense is for real. That QB can sling it quickly, accurately and with zip on it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye on them. Go Raiders! 😃

Well, it turns out that my attempt to punish myself for some suspect spreads by taking Centre +18.5 backfired badly as UMU's backup defense blew a good chunk of the 51-7 first-half lead.  So leading the 2018 OAC Playoff Pick-Em this ween was yours truly with 14/16 points.

That moves Mr_Mom into a second-place tie with New Tradition and Raider 68, one point behind our current leader, desertcat1.

Spreads for Round 3 will come out Monday night.  As in years past, I will add a couple games from the other divisions to make it more interesting.
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

I'm convinced this has been an issue against UW-W in the past and I think this year might be one of the more extreme cases we have seen.

This has been a frequent worry over the years for Mount fans but I, for one, am not sure there's a correlation between being tested before the Stagg Bowl and winning the Stagg Bowl.  (Or, should I say, between NOT being tested and then losing the Stagg Bowl.)

Mount Union was 7-2 in 1979.  4-4-1 in 1978.

Their last losing season was in 1977 when they were 4-5.
