Even though UMU specifically declined to nominate, we made sure the OAC first-teamers were included.

How are the decisions for all region and all American made? I mean Jared Ruth leads Mount in every WR category and yet Justin Hill gets the nod. Just curious.
BTW on the interview stuff I dont have a problem with Mounts stance. It doesn't seem like a drastic departure from previous years. Maybe lou berry indicated he didn't want to do it? Mount is very team focused. They dont nominate for them of week or whatever that is called.

From the Release:

QuotePlayers were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, who were contacted multiple times as the season wound down to remind them to make their players eligible. A total of 1,029 players were nominated.

All-Region teams were selected in balloting by sports information directors in each region and D3football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team.

I have a procedure question

I know the teams exchange 3 game films before a game. It used to be that the last game was skipped. The 3 prior to that would be exchanged. In other words, if Mount beats JHU, would THAT game be skipped? Help! And remember, I get mixed up!  ::)

I'm not sure if this is posted anywhere.  Probably have to ask someone who is directly involved (coach).

Plus, even if the most recent game is skipped, this weekend's games (semifinals) will be broadcast on ESPN3 (online) so anyone can probably "grab" them from there.

From the pre-championship handbook:

Sunday, Dec. 2. Noon Eastern time. Deadline for the home teams of quarterfinal-round games to have posted via digital system copies of the quarterfinal-round playoff game (and communicate information to the winning team if the visiting team won). The winning team must provide information for obtaining its first-, second- and quarterfinal-round games to the opposing coach for the semifinal-round game.

Ruth wasn't first team all-conference, so you'd probably want to start your inquiry with the OAC coaches.

As for the story, I can tell you that the interview request was shot down without being offered to the student-athlete. I wouldn't have taken this extraordinary action if that were the case.

If I recall correctly, in the before times, the 3 games exchanged didn't include the most recent game because of the effort and time involved in preparing it. Now that it's digital, this has changed since it is much quicker and easier.

KJDad, I did not change our boilerplate text to specifically call out the school that declined to participate.

I didn't intend to mean you should.  I was just attempting to include your post in my response for extra information.

Thank you for all you do for D3Football!

Disappointed that OSU hired Ryan Day as he doesn't have HC experience.   Was hoping Matt Campbell would be the guy.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

DeAngelo Fulford on the second team?  That's absurd. His QB rating is one of the highest in the country, far and away better than D3's OPY. DeAngelo is UNDEFEATED as a starter, 26-0,  and has won a National Championship. Nothing the D3 POY has done remotely compares to Fulford's achievements on the field of play. What does this kid have to do?
