I find Mount's reluctance to talk to d3football.com bizarre and frankly dumb.

I find d3football.com weaving it into a story title and tagging the school in tweets about it to petty, unprofessional, and gives credence to Mount not wanting to deal with them.

I agree 98%. I dont think mount is being dumb. By not talking they control the narrative. I think the d3 crew needs to get over it. You dont like the "policy". I get that. But your approach is going to little to change it.  It makes Mount look right and you look small.

When you say "policy", what are you referring too? I don't recall there being an issue in the past getting stories or quotes and as an outsider I rely on Jeffrey Zupanic who seems to have quotes from Mount Union.

Zup doesn't write for d3fb.com he writes for the alliance review. The discussion is regarding the seemingly specific d3fb.com shut out

This might be how it works in the purple-tinted world of Alliance and those who drink the Mount koolaid in whatever form, but to the rest of the world, I think d3football being forthright about Mount's pettiness is excellent and the story title was clever (and hilarious).

I know that but you can't really claim "policy" when something is geared towards a single entity especially when that entity handles 98% of all D3 football coverage.

That's certainly possible. We will learn a lot about UWW (and Bethel) but I wonder about how Jase Hannack is holding up.

I believe his last name is spelled Hammond, if last week's SJU radio broadcast is to be believed  ;)

Maybe a Quick Hits teaser(??) but are we sure there are going to be three scores total in that game?

One way to be forthright about pettiness is to be extremely petty? I guess that works....for 9 year olds.

The title would've been hilarious if going for humor. They are going for pity and to make mean old MUC the bad guy.

All this talk about stories, or lack of, by d3football.com and refusals by UMU to be interviewed. Since we probably can't do anything about the situation, let's talk football. We have a game Saturday. It's a semifinal. Against what seems to be a tough opponent. Comments?
And, in conjunction with the game, who will be at Rey's 62 tomorrow? Hope some Mount guys make it as well as some Johns Hopkins. Let's start getting psyched up for the game!

I'm not trying to squelch discussion on the aforementioned subject. I just don't know much about it! I plead ignorance - and I can prove it. Go Raiders!   ;D

Thanks to all for some clarification by the way. dlip just didn't really know what was going on.

In regards to the game dlip really doesn't think it's going to be a barn burner. dlip likes what he saw from Hopkins last week but he really doesn't feel like they can win. They have quite a prolific offense that even when it seems as if they aren't doing anything great they are moving the ball on you and suddenly their in the red zone and 6 is a foregone conclusion. With that said this is Mount and dlip sees Hopkins getting frustrated, at times, and leaving enough of a window for Mount to get some separation on the scoreboard. Their D is decent, but not as good as the Mule's D. This is where Hopkins will fall short IDLHO. He expects Mount, rain or shine, to be much more polished this week on O and eventually pull away. Honestly he expects Mount to roll but is playing it safe with a two to three score differential when it's all over.

dlip will say one thing though. While he wasn't blown away with the Hopkins QB (who is really good don't get dlip wrong) he was/is blown away with their RB Stuart Walters. Kid/Man is a ****ing beast and Mount needs to keep his ass in check.

Best of luck to both teams hoping for a competitive injury free semi-final.
A long time fan of DIII Football!

The weather report I looked at showed a high of 30 degrees. I'm no meteorological expert but I think that rules out rain  ;D
