Yes yes fair enough, I was just being a jerk  :P

Jeff Zupanic now writes for the Youngstown Vindicator.  Many schools have media policies, I believe that Ohio State and Iowa State do not allow media access to freshman.

It is a topic that has now worn itself out.  I see D3 as the absolute best and most honest coverage of D3 sports and do not question their motives, integrity, or mission.  Colleges have the right to make media policies, however, I hope it would  be consistent across the board.
Did I like the coverage about athletes who have made mistakes with the law? NO. But, it is public domain and THEY, the athletes, are the ones that stepped out of bounds.
As my dear old daddy used to say,
"We reap what we sow"  and if you sow it, it may grow...(my addition)  Or as Jameis Winston's granny used to say, "If you are in the headlines for touchdowns, you will be in the headlines for illegal shrimpin' ".I believe that UWW wins a close one.

I will miss even watching game Saturday.

I've been meaning to ask:  Will the game be replayed on ESPN.com  shortly after the finish?  I think that's what happened last year but I can't remember for sure.

I think you should be able to access a replay of the game any time after the finish of the game through the ESPN app or through the ESPN website.  It also looks like these games are not behind the ESPN+ paywall, so huzzah for everybody not subscribed to that service.

Thanks!

We have a game Saturday. It's a semifinal. Against what seems to be a tough opponent. Comments?

I think the lack of talk about this game speaks volumes of everyone's expectations of the outcome. Next week will be a different story.

I believe most Mount fans believe that if Fulford is reasonably healthy, Mount wins handily.

And if Fulford isn't reasonably healthy . . . it will be a very close game.

I find Mount's reluctance to talk to d3football.com bizarre and frankly dumb.

I find d3football.com weaving it into a story title and tagging the school in tweets about it to petty, unprofessional, and gives credence to Mount not wanting to deal with them.

Pat Coleman stayed silent for a year.  Which is about 10 months longer than I would have stayed silent.

those that are paying attention and know what  HIS  opinion of the media is did that come out of  HIS mouth or just yours

Personally, I have a healthy - or unhealthy - disdain for wide swathes of the American media myself, sports or otherwise.  But I try to take individuals as they are, not as part of a stereotypical group.  Everybody gets a shot to be judged on their own merits, and THE YOUNGER THEY ARE THE MORE CHANCES THEY GET.

Also, there is an ENORMOUS difference between a tough but legitimate question and a stupid or "jerky" question.  People in the public eye - and you can be in the public eye while working for a private university - should understand and respond accordingly.

I'll be at Rey's about 7:45.  Pony tail and wearing purple.  Hope to see some of you there.

Last fall Zupancic refused to ask the tough questions.  There was a point where HSCoach said something like (and if I get this substantially wrong, HSCoach, please correct me):  "Sure, Zupancic can get quotes from LK 'cause Zupancic's the only reporter LK still talks to."  And HS Coach did NOT say this in a laudatory manner.

I agree 98%. I dont think mount is being dumb. By not talking they control the narrative. I think the d3 crew needs to get over it. You dont like the "policy". I get that. But your approach is going to little to change it.  It makes Mount look right and you look small.

This might be how it works in the purple-tinted world of Alliance and those who drink the Mount koolaid in whatever form, but to the rest of the world, I think d3football being forthright about Mount's pettiness is excellent and the story title was clever (and hilarious).

Unfortunately, if Mount grads are going to take shots at St. Glenn (and I have sung in that chorus regarding his antics vs. Mount's victory formation), then Tommie fans have every right to take shots at Saint Larry when he screws up.  Hell, I'm taking a pretty big shot at LK myself and I'm a MOUNT grad and a HUGE fan of our secular saint.

One way to be forthright about pettiness is to be extremely petty? I guess that works....for 9 year olds.

The title would've been hilarious if going for humor. They are going for pity and to make mean old MUC the bad guy.

Pat Coleman isn't the one acting like a nine-year-old.

It is a topic that has now worn itself out.

Then don't read any more posts about it.  Personally, I'm just getting warmed up.

I'm still debating which way to go, though:

  a) A lengthy post here, much lengthier than my norm.
  b) A letter to the editor submitted to the student newspaper.  (Is it still called The Dynamo?)  Might or might not get published.
  c)  A letter to the editor of The Alliance Review.  Might or might not get published.
  d) A private letter - stamps, envelope - to LK.  Might or might not get read but I think that could be my best hope at persuasion.  I guess that's the way I'm leaning at the moment.

Fair is fair. I hate that you are being reasonable about this though. I'd prefer for all Mount fans to be the evil movie villains so I could better channel my hate for the evil empire (machine... Mean machine? What's a sinister term that is alliterative with machine?)

An overarching thought on Larry Kehres:

If the number one theme of his career is teaching young people, what are young people learning from him now?
