WOW!  Real Football Central is predicting Mount Union to win the Stagg Bowl.  I would have thought with their injuries they would have been underdogs.

Fulford is going to have to get A LOT better at Decision Making for Mount Union to win this game.

If Ruth can't go, I'm not sure the Raiders can win it.

If Mount Union is going to win, the Defense will have to hold UMHB under 14 points.

It still seems weird to me that Keeny is just gone when it comes to playing.I mean 13-16, what like 297-4 tds. that's not bad. You gotta wonder if Luke was still here if he-d be playing some if not a lot right now with the was Fulford is struggling. Im not trying to bash Fulford but he basically cost us 21pts if u look at 2 endzone picks and the fumble. I watched him all day sat and he just did not look right , he really seemed like he wasn't there. It almost looks like u just found out ur hc is taking another job and ur mad about it.

Agree with your observations. Mount's defense will be OK but the offense has to score. Last year, UMHB's defense was solid but their offense couldn't score. Of course, you already knew that.
Mount has the talent and the coaching to win the game. No doubt. Let's hope both segments are at their best. Go Raiders. Show 'em why you're the best!

The irony is that if Poorman was still at Mount my guess is he would have started the last 3 playoff games.  If VK had a proven QB like Luke I bet he just lets Fulford heal up.  Why push Fulford to play when Poorman would have been more than capable?  Honestly, the same would have gone for Davis if he was still there IMO.

It's funny you say that, I had the same feeling in the third quarter with Jase, he seemed almost dazed but snapped out of it in the fourth, not taking anything away from the warhawks, good on them figuring it out and rising up!

He needs to be smart with the 50/50 balls this week. 

One thing that will help is knowing UMHB will be lined up - they don't try to disguise it.  They just play it well with great athletes (obviously) and know their roles.  Al Groh called it the Tampa Two and it generally looks like that.  Speed and extreme aggressiveness.

There are places to exploit in it... along the sideline behind the corner back (with a flatter throw to keep the safety from making a play), the seams, behind the LB's (with playaction) and short passes over the middle as outlets.  UMHB wants to rally up.. Mount Union has a couple kids who can make those LBs miss when they come up to make the tackle.  I'm sure they will be drilling these throws this week with Fulford and telling him its okay to throw it away - live to fight another play.

The reality to this team is QB1 is hurt, and is not getting better by Friday.  He looked sharp very early, took a hit, limped, and then looked less than his usual self.  He rallied at the beginning of the second half, took another hit, and was limping again.  I am not blaming all his decision-making on his bad ankle, but he's nowhere near himself.  I believe he will rally up and give us his best possible & that's all you can ask for.  I don't expect to see Ruth as this is his second (or third) go round with the bad hammy.  You just don't quickly "get better" from that kind of injury.

The D needs to keep playing lights out as it will be needed with MHB's athletes.  Again their scheme is usually very basic, but they are always one step away from breaking one.  It should be a very entertaining with Mount as an underdog but with a good chance to win the game.

I agree. This is NOT one of the best Mount teams. But hey, he's a new kid and he is being one of the few giving us a chance. I like his optimism. Go Raiders!

As a TEAM, this year's Raiders are not One of the Best we've had.

Defensively ranks high in the Mount Union Ranks.  Offensively, we've beat up on the little sisters of the poor this year, but have been not as consistent vs. tougher opponents.  Especially with DF not 100% and missing Ruth and Moxie.

I wasn't being negative, just realistic.  I believe Mount Union's Defense is better than last year at this time.  Offense is not as good as last year at this time.  It appears that UMHB defense is as good (or better than) last year, and offense is definitely better with a True QB.
