Sorry gentlemen, but I have to ask this.  A huge semifinal game for Mount and at their own stadium and you only had 1725 in attendance for the game.  I realize we recently have talked about declining attendance everywhere, but...what's with that?  Disappointing, IMO, and we didn't have any holidays in the mix at this particular date. Your thoughts?

1.  Not much respect for the opponent from the uninformed locals.  Had it been White Water or UMHB or SJU the turnout would have been better.qqqqa
2.  Nobody wants to sit in the cold to watch another boring Mount Union blow out.  (I have heard this many, many times in local pubs.)
3.  ESPN

You got it right on. I hear your number 2 all the time as well. Also, we never seem to get big crowds for the playoffs. Again, probably for the reasons you mentioned. Go Raiders!

We got some slightly warmer temps in Texas this time of year and hopefully a respectable opponent, curious what you guys think the turn out will be from the Mount Union faithful this Friday?

Gotta be honest...I am not expecting to many to make the trek.  But I know 52 will be there...or whatever the playoff travel limit is

Going to be interesting how that affects UMHB. Our finals headed last Friday so there were very few students in the stands this weekend. However many of them are from the Houston area and will have had nothing to do for the past week so we will see what kind of turn out UMHB can bring.

I will not be attending the Stagg this year (and not because it's in TX) as Jr. is graduating on Saturday from OU & I am looking forward to seeing my youngest walking to get his degree in the Convo Center.  Now he just needs to find a job, get his own place, and start taking care of dad.   ;)

A few of us are getting together somewhere in the Canton area to watch the game.  Preferably a place that will give us a big screen & sound.  I am efforting that venue these next few days.

Hey, skunks:
Congratulations on your son graduating from OU!  A wonderful accomplishment not only by him, but also on your part as a supportive, caring parent.  I wish him all the best and I do not doubt he will get a good job.  Wishing you an enjoyable weekend both for the graduation and also watching the Stagg Bowl.

I am looking forward to when the Stagg moves to Canton, OH after next year.  Like you, not because I have anything against Texas, however, I am like John Madden in that I have a fear of flying and drive for conferences, vacations, etc.  ;D  A much more viable drive to Ohio (and even Salem) than going to Texas!  Anyway, I hope the Stagg ends up being a great game, similar to this past weekend's Army/Navy game!

BTW, one last mention:  Ferris State in our own state plays for the NCAA Div. II National Championship.  I personally thought they should have won the national football title 2 and 3 years ago as I believe they had better teams then, however, they were knocked out in the early rounds of the playoffs.  However, they apparently are better as they have beat some tough teams in this year's playoffs.  IF they win, Ferris will be one of the few colleges/universities to win national championship titles in both basketball and football in the same year.

Thanks Fd3db!  Certainly proud of the kid & him being my last also a bit relieved.  I was all set to buy a plane ticket to Houston (Canton has direct flights) until I knew his graduation date.  I am also looking forward to Canton as I "think" I will be involved with helping that event at some level & look forward to what the HOF people, Stark County & the city of Canton can do.

Let me echo congrats to junior.  Man, it seems like I just met him at Panchos as a sophomore in HS - relax, everyone.. he was our DD.

Congrats Jeff - you did really good - both to not have him end up at Cincinnati and for instilling the values to finish college.  Keep us updated on his job prospects.  If he wants to work in Boston, let me know and I'll introduce him to some folks.
