Johns Hopkins had very few fans at the game. I sit in the "blue hair" section in the covered stands and it was freezing cold, really uncomfortable, and I was dressed for it. Many left during the game and at halftime. The cold was the reason there were so few in the stands.

Mount fans. I just left practice. I feel 100% better. You will too. Go Raiders! ;D  ;D  ;D

Fumblerooski?
Petro has a cannon and can throw it like Borchert?

Wow. DeAngelo Fulford and Louis Berry have been named to the AFCA D3 All-American team. This is without a doubt the most prestigious All-American team. Looks like "crow" is on the menu for those of you who relegated Fulford to second and "lucky to be on the second team" status.

Just so you know, when you serve a dish of crow, it's cooked, not raw.

The coaches probably assumed that the Mount Union quarterback was an automatic All-American. It's definitely prestigious, but not infallible.

He still only made second team... and I still think he's lucky to be there.

Now, if he throws for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns against UMHBs defense I'll happily eat crow.

Exactly. On both points.

Purple:  You can shout from the mountain tops until you're blue in the face, but it fails to disprove that he hasn't played well this season against anyone with a pulse.  I'd overlook round 2 because of the ankle, but that doesn't explain JCU or JHU.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

So Pat, you actually equate the second team D3 North Region with the AFCA second team All America team? You say, really, seriously, those coaches selected him just because he is the Mount Union quarterback and not on merit?  That's insulting to them. Face it Pat, those guys that select the AFCA team are far ,far, better qualified to decide who the best  D3 football players are in the USofA. The AFCA team selection is the highest honor a D3 football player can receive. It's not an  "everybody gets a prize" award, (like the OAC team was this year), it's simply the best.  DeAngelo Fulford is a two time selection to the AFCA team. An incredible achievement.

purple,

How many Coaches do you think actually fill out their own ballots, as opposed to delegating it?

And how many do you think are actually qualified to evaluate players they don't play against?

I think coaches' polls are generally the WEAKEST polls.  Evaluating teams they play (or might play), sure.  Evaluating (irrelevant) teams - no way.

Nope. I don't equate it at all. Not sure how you could have thought I did, actually, Counselor.

TBH I for one think they probably just picked  him based on regular season #s without the extra dilligence of comparing how he played against better defenses. I also think many coaches delegate their picks.

Raider 68

Several Posters have mentioned how stellar the Raider defense has been this year. This year if ever the old saying that
"Defense wins Championships" this could be this year. The defense has scored 15 touchdowns this year and another way
to look at it is;

Points scored against the defense for 14 games - 161
Points scored by the defense for 14 games -         105
Net difference -                                                        56
Net points per game                                                  4

Not too many teams if any have accomplished that, IMHO, so if the offense can be even a little consistent, minimize
the turnovers the Raiders still have a good shot at #14 :)

In a separate discussion on Twitter, one Division III coach today said it is indeed based on regular season stats.

Spreads and side bets for the 2018 OAC Playoff Pick-Em are posted.

I took it easy on myself and did away with the over/under questions this year.  But I am still forcing y'all to be experts on both teams.

Game is Friday night ... please get your picks in before the game starts.

Good luck to all players and both teams!

I think if they play this game three times, Mount wins once.  So 5 1/2 points sounds about right to me, Mom.

By the way, WHICH shoulder is hurt of the UMHB QB?  Throwing or non-throwing?
