Question for the Mount faithful, a few player of the players appeared to do a horns down gesture through the game. Is that a reference to something I don't know about or a shot at Texas in some way?

I would assume it was a Horns Down hand gesture.  Similar to what Oklahoma and West Virginia were signalling against U of Texas.

I guess they are relating that Symbol (Horns up or down) to any school in TX.  ??? ??? ???

That's what I figured but it did make me chuckle a bit since quite a few of our fans would be right there with them to make that gesture.

Definitely one of the strangest and most out of place attempts at shade I've seen.  It was weird.

I saw that on the replay.  Kind of funny in that it would be like UMHB players doing some signal that would disrespect Ohio State, which also wouldn't make any sense.

I've got room for some Alliance smite...

I'd have bet on the high school team to beat UMU in 2018.
That's because I live here and you live there.
Here's your chance to to see the H.S. National Champions before you see them as sophomores in D1.

It will be off-season entertainment for footballphiles.

And how are we going to see this HS team beat UMU in 2018?

Sometimes the postings on this board are truly comical.

Yeah, I know I usually am, but this is fantasy football and I'm serious.
I believe this flies in the face of the opinion that 17 year-olds could not possibly compete with 21 year-olds.

Doubtful.  And since there is no "national high school playoff", there is no way to prove that they could even beat every other HS team in the country.  I think there are a few in Texas and maybe Florida that could stake a claim to the #1 spot.

Let's not tell these guys about Massillon or St. Ignatius. Let them keep thinking H.S. Football exists only in Texas. Good example of "Ignorance is bliss"!  ;D

I thought DOC's post was in reference to Mater Dei which is in California? I didn't seen any indication that Mater Dei is the best HS football in the country (maybe, maybe not?), but instead the suggestion that a high school team full of 4 and 5 star athletes could beat a top D3 team. It's an interesting thought exercise for the off-season at least.

But perhaps I missed something. After all, I'm young but I still get mixed up and forget things.

Don't recall those teams ever being national champion or ranked no. 1. My 2 were. Read about Massillon especially. At least as good a tradition as ANY Texas school. No more. I'm done.  :o

Never cede anything when you have 13 rings.

I'm familiar with the 1958 Massilon H.S team and beyond, MUC57.  I remember them playing an exhibition game against a TX H.S. team in the 60s - and losing.

Never cede anything....
