I think Mount Union loses 4 games in 2019- change my mind

I actually agree with four losses.  We're talking men's soccer right?

My phone isn't ringing.  You just continue running your mouth on a football message board when, all along, you're accusing someone of not manning up.  I've shared my thoughts of what might have happened, and even apologized if I was out of line when I was younger.  And you go on and on and on and still make zero sense.  Admit it, Paul — you're a keyboard warrior.  Woo.  That's why I spend less time on social media these days — I spend more time away from the keyboard because that's where real life takes place.

And all the while, my original point was that Fulford yapping on social media about me wasn't what a man does — that hashing it out face to face or voice to voice was.  And that when I encounter social media trolls, I block them or take other proper precautions.  And you continue to troll here, when you've been invited to pick up a phone and hash it out by voice.  "You did something REALLY bad, Frank," without substantiation is a pretty odd look (and technically illegal).  But you keep going and going and going about it.  I have enough self-awareness to know of things I wish I hadn't done, and Paul Schreel's name isn't even in my memory banks.  Facebook tells me I blocked you, and I'd be lying if I said I knew why.  I'm sorry this left such an indelible mark in your life that you're unable to pick up a phone and discuss it.  If counseling is necessary and your school won't pay for it, I'll consider chipping in toward this obviously long-overdue therapy.  Otherwise, there's really not much else I can say or do to help you here.

Somebody is running their mouth on a college football board. I think there may be some disagreement on who is actually doing that.

I'm not convinced Mount Union's JV team would lose 4 games against a Varsity OAC schedule next year.

is there a difference between technically illegal and illegal

Your apology was far from sincere; it was back-handed.  So I give zero credit for that as a man because it is weak and disingenuous.  And I don't need or want an apology from you so that doesn't bother me.

You wanted the air cleared and for me to share the details of your behavior on facebook years ago but you then come back around and complain about how this isn't the place for this discussion.  You make an accusation of not manning up to a college kid but have twisted it to somehow be me that started it.  That was you, Frank.

It's pretty easy to see your methodology.

And I'm sure you think you're super clever for working my name (awkwardly) into your most recent comment because you've outed a "keyboard warrior" who's been on this site as an active member for 20 years; okay technically long before this site dating back to Post Patterns.  And my name has been found on this site for years as well as a writer/analyst/broadcaster for D3 over the last two decades.

The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is that you don't practice what you preach.  That matters to me because I care and teach about character and I feel your social media (yes I am including this forum) persona isn't consistent with the character you've personally demonstrated to me and others.  And no, saying that I think your character is in question based on the bashing you do and how men should settle things isn't a lack of character on my part.  I'm talking about accountability to begin with and I just don't see it from you.  I wish I did.

I'd put my reputation against yours any day of the week, Paul.  That's all I can say.  Respect is earned, and I've been involved in the D3 football community for nearly 25 years and have tremendous positive relationships with a number of coaches and players and administrators because I've earned their respect and trust over time.  I've been a member of the gay flag football national community as a referee and advocate for over 7 years now.  I spend my own money to cover their tournaments, cover D3 football events, broadcast ITH, and more because I'm passionate about the sport.  All that while I run two businesses — my own legal practice and my family's land development business.  At a certain point, I exit a convo like this and say, "Let my reputation speak for itself," because I honestly don't have time for this crap.  But you just won't stop pointing to so some mystery event and saying it's some sort of proof of my character, accountability, consistency, etc.

I'm the first one to admit — and so is Pat — that when I was younger, I was rough around the edges as a broadcaster, reporter, and D3 advocate.  But it's funny what cultivating positive relationships does over time in healing those wounds and that image.  More often than not, people like you come by because there's a jealousy involved with the respect someone else can achieve that has been through those lows and turned them into highs.  I'm damned proud of how I've made so many positive relationships.  My co-host, James Baker, has become my best friend in life because he's stuck by me through thick and thin, to the point that he asked me to officiate his wedding last year.  Those are the relationships I'm really proud of and thrilled to have in my life — because they're positive energy.  It's why I avoid message boards on most days of the week, since the energy around here is pretty negative too often.

I'm not the easiest person to get along with because I'm focused and don't put up with bullsh**.  I'm ostracized often in the gay community because I'm such a sports advocate and don't apply to the gay community's social norms.  I'm 42 and single mostly because I'm too busy covering D3 sports with the limited free time I have.  So, yes, I'm pretty damned sensitive as to people tearing apart my reputation since I sacrifice a lot of my personal life to promote the people in this division.  I haven't been accused of any crimes.  I haven't missed any court dates.  I haven't (tried to) disrespect(ed) an entire state of the union on national television.  I haven't yelled at my head coach on that same broadcast.  I didn't call someone who wore a funny looking outfit for cancer awareness purposes "a clown," directed at the pseudonym given to me by Twitter ("sparkleman").  But I'm the guy who has a reputation for being a person needing further examination?  That's fine — I'll talk to anyone who wants to suggest that, including you.  But the venue I'll do that in isn't on a message board or Facebook or Twitter.  You have my phone number.  And the phone isn't ringing.  If you can message and message and message on your school's time and dime, then you can pick up the phone and make a call much quicker.

But let me make something perfectly clear: I'm not a gay basher, as accused by you.  I don't agree with every gay-centric political issue, and I'm not a single-issue voter.  Some folks may wrongly perceive my stances based on that.  It's happened several times before.  But I also don't block people on whims.  And one wonders what the hell you did to drive me to THAT point.  I know what Jamto did to deserve it on Twitter because it was more recent and pretty asinine.  So any time you want to stop the public showboating about this crap and take it offline where it belongs, go right ahead.  But until you do, it's just proving my point about your keyboard warrior status X years later after some mystery event.  One of us has apparently grown up.  The other, I'm not so sure at this point.

I'll let folks decide for themselves how obviously asinine my take was:

Even funnier is that I tried to review your comments on the ITH account since I blocked you, and I couldn't see them still because you were muted by that account (which I don't run).  Apparently, I wasn't the only one done with you.

Wait, what? There's a Gay Flag Football community?
Is that a league made up of only gay players or is it a sort of association of gay players that participate in "mixed" player flag teams?
I played flag for many years and never knew of such a thing. Hmph.

It's the NGFFL nationally.  We have 22 active member league cities across the country, including in Hawai'i (hosting Gay Bowl 20 next year) and Toronto.  I represent the Gay Bowl 19 hosts in October, NYC.  Straight allies are allowed on teams, but there are rules on the number you can have in a game and on the field at one time (it's 7x7 flag).  We'll likely have 60-64 teams this year in NYC, including about 15 women's teams.  If you search "Gay Bowl A Championship" on YouTube, you'll find the Women's and Open A-Division Championship Game broadcasts I produced from Gay Bowl 17 in the Boston area.  There are several former Division 3 players involved -- Adam Turer interviewed one as part of his ATN column on sexuality in football last season.

I don't know how to block anyone.
Sometimes I wish I did.
No one has a guaranteed start at UMU. I expect this sounds trite, or obvious, but it is true. The key to their success is that simple. You fight for your job and you win the job and your teammates confidence or you don't. All positions, every year. Doesn't matter if you were all OAC, preseason All America, a returning starter , or a senior; you can and will loose your job if the other guy is better in practice. All of the above have happened at UMU. The competition in practice is what they train for, not the Otterbein defensive line. (Ha) They are brothers and friends but it's dog eat dog when it's full go.
I don't want to know if I've been blocked.
