Hello All, I'm back! Ha Sorry for how long it's been.. Got a new job, so I've been way more busy

You're back? Oh, were you gone?
Just kidding, my friend. Are you still in Chicago?
This Saturday - the big game. Raiders vs Blue Streaks. Former Protestants (no more endowments from the Methodist Church) vs Catholics (and the Jesuits to boot)! Good guys vs Bad guys!
As a Catholic fellow myself, for whom will I root? Are you kidding? Mount Union - class of 1957 (no "old" jokes, please). I'm all in for the purple guys. But I still like JCU!
Good luck to both teams. This should be a really good game. Go Everybody!  8-)  ::)  ;D

At least WE have 2 different colored helmets.  ;D

Hey Guys thanks for the welcome wishes.  I was on here years ago and I often post on the D3 website.

I love football, and especially D3 and Mount.  I try to follow all of the games not just Mount although I'm super biased.

I think that the game against BW this past was less than spectacular, but a 45-7 win against a good squad with some good athletes is never a bad thing.  I think we'll get the long snaps under control, that's just a matter of practice.  I think that Fulford has looked sharper this year than he did at the end of last year.  I think that Burkes is a perfect player to come out of the slot.  He quick and strong and seemingly has good hands.

I would like to see Mount pound the rock against JCU this week.  I think with that O-Line, Petro, Garcia and Fulford a 300 yard rushing performance is not out of the question.  They should keep it real with 20-25 pass attempts, but the run game should be the priority, IMO.

Go Raiders!!

Cool story about JCU alum, London Fletcher:

London Fletcher's rise to John Carroll stardom, Hall of Fame is storybook

As someone who saw London in person I can firmly say he and Pierre Garçon were the most out of place players I've ever seen in D3.  He was a man amongst boys.  First class guy too.  His honors are well deserved.

I also saw London play. And I have some thoughts on him.
I remember a game back in the 90's, in the Bill Borchert days. Game was at Mount Union.
First the upside. He was a one man wrecking crew. He was all over the place. He would line up on the left side and make a tackle on the right side. I could never figure out how he got there so fast. It seems like he was in on every play. A real joy to watch.
Now the downside. He made some, seemingly, cheap shots. Once, after Borchert made a run, he slid, to avoid a tackle. London gave him a shot while he was on the ground. After the play was over, Jason Carper gave him a shove, knocking him to the ground. Of course, Jason was flagged for a penalty. After he went to the sideline, he was met by a livid LK. I think the coach said something like, "you really shouldn't do that" or something to that affect. Anyway, Fletcher got tossed in the 4th quarter, after some more cheap shots, much to the dismay of Coach Tony DiCarlo.
But, in spite of all that, he had one hell of an NFL career. He deserves all the accolades he received as a pro player.  8-)

Good people are hard to replace. Hopefully you can find your way back to the boards often. It's great to have OAC perspectives that go beyond how The Machine can be tweaked after a 45-7 victory.  ;)

They just added it to the media guide. It's there now. No starter changes. Ford starts at DE again. Only other ones I notice are Beers at backup DE, Jones as backup corner and Manley and Ruby at WR (they've been in and out of the 2 deep), no Reed at WR.

Just my. 02, Mount Union defense will stop the run, but they must stop the play action pass that will be dangerous. I think Mount can run the ball, but the Oline must give Fulford time to throw. I hope we don't start running long routes again bc I'm not sure he'll have the time to make those throws. Looking forward to a great game. My guess 27-14 Raiders!

Tomorrow should be a special honor for London and I'm sure with JCU being a class act they won't misspell his name like the Redskins did the other night.

From CBS Sports, The Washington Redskins putting on an embarrassingly bad display of football on Monday night against the Chicago Bears, but the team's most embarrassing moment actually came at halftime.
That's when the team inducted former linebacker London Fletcher to the team's Ring of Honor. But, in pretty classic Redskins fashion, they messed it up by spelling his name "Flecther" instead of "Fletcher" on the big screen inside FedExField.
