Wally, Canton does this for a living.  They are seasoned, excited, and will put on a show to take the Stagg to the next level.  They have the resources, the wherewithal, and desire to make this a great experience.  Instead of council meetings questioning what they are obligated to do, where the money is coming from, etc, the powers that be will plan on how to make it a truly awesome event for all involved.

Yeah, what he said.  ;D

I'm truly looking forward to next year in Canton, and, good Lord willing, will be there no matter who is playing.  Visit Stark, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and Canton and Stark County officials will, I'm confident, combine their talants and experience to make the Stagg Bowl an outstanding event.  (If the NCAA and ESPN don't get in the way.)

No offense to our friends from Wiscosin, but GO NORTH CENTRAL!

I have no doubt that Canton will host/put on a great experience for the Stagg Bowl next year, including all the reasons you all memtion. However, the question still remains as to how long the NCAA will allow it to remain there. Obviously, only time will tell.

I thought the NCAA wanted to move it every two years.
Pat, is that right?  ???

That's definitely what the NCAA intended when they moved from Salem, a rotating site.

However... IMHO, since the NFL has a LOT of money, if they want the event in Canton they'll probably get the NCAA to rethink that policy

Raider 68

This is my first post since Mount lost to North Central. I felt the Raiders were strong enough to win it all this year.

I wish North Central the best in the Stagg Bowl, since they are a very talented team.

K & J's Dad, did you publish the Raider returning depth chart? If so, I missed. They will have a good group returning including a QB who is game ready along with
a seasoned RB.

That's awesome to hear! I wondered what happened with him after a solid freshman season. I'm glad to see he's made an impact! Congrats Octavion!

Thanks for the share as well.

Wow.  His story reads like a Hollywood script.  Certainly no "I tore my ACL and came back."  Congratulations to Octavion on the award and, most importantly, on finding his path.  That type of perseverance will serve him well his whole life.

I went to Texas last year for the Stagg and I was underwhelmed by the showing of Shenandoah.  Nice stadium good facilities but it seemed to me that they did not do much other than provide a stadium for the game in terms of extra activities.  Didn't see the number of locals that you saw in Salem.

raiderpa

Salem, as host, never disappointed.  They made you feel welcome, and went out of their way to make the experience a positive one.  While I will not be attending due to the Mount Union defeat, I will be watching to see how North Central's offense handles what appears a fine defense.  I will be rooting for the Cards and hope they can bring home the hardware.  My prediction, Central 24 WWW 17.

Agree... Been to Salem 3 times with different groups each time and it was always a great time, atmosphere and setup. People were already great. Hotels were welcoming. Entertainment with music, half time, and extras we fun.

Reminiscing on a day where I miss being in the discussion. Enjoy it NCC and UWW!

I was getting on to share similar thoughts. I know styles makes fights to some degree, but this is wild!

Thought similar.

NCC is doing what they did to Mount by lining up, shifting the offense formation to get an advantage and attacking.

mr_mom

Thought the same ... even submitted a bracket to Grizz where NCC went all the way, but didn't expect UWW to beat UMHB.  Was just starting to believe [+10.5].  Game tonight is a surprise.
