Hello, MUC, my friend. I am doing fine and thanks for the shout out. I am trying to enjoy these last few events of the college football season i.e. the usual all-star games before I go into suffering college football withdrawal symptoms!. I have been following (trying to follow) the many college football staff changes (via Pat's D3footbal.com and other venues) at all levels that have been going down as those events occur at this time every year.

I certainly am ready for spring but, like you and many others here, I am also so ready for the college football season of 2020 to start. Yet, at least we'll have spring practice to look forward to.

You and all your Mount Union colleagues here (like many other posters on these boards) are very anxious to know who will be the next HC at your alma mater and what direction they'll be heading in that regard.

Hope you are doing well yourself and surviving the winter so far. Stay safe and we'll keep in touch.

Mount Union's new head coach stays in the family. Geoff Dartt will be the new head coach! Honestly, I'm excited for him and think he can and will do great things to continue the tradition! I'm sure there will be more to come.

No surprise.  He is a Mount guy, is extremely qualified and will continue the policies and procedures that are in place.  Question is, will Kappas stay if he wanted the Head Coaching position?

Kappas was interviewed for the job.  Will he stay or look for an opportunity elsewhere?  We'll probably know soon.

I wonder who else they interviewed?

Agree, not a surprise, but a good choice.  As some of you have mentioned, will Kappas (and perhaps others) stay?

Dartt is the new HC?  Noooo....shocking.  Wally your thoughts?  It was already a done deal & all you "in the know" Mount folks who were expounding some other person/candidate really had no clue.

This is a GREAT outcome for Mount Union, the Kehres legacy & the Machine.  Trust me when I tell you Mount is now positioned to continue & strengthen the football tradition that has been so amazing.

Now the next step is to name something at that athletic (football) complex after LK.

I think the process was made clear that they would interview in-house first (and those candidates would be heavily weighted in the process) and it shook out as expected.  Good day for Mount Union!

Would have been surprised if it went any other way, tbh.  In an offline conversation somewhere I said it's probably Dartt vs. the field with Dartt as the very heavy favorite.

The selection of Coach Dartt will assure the the "Kehres Way" will continue at Mount Union.  Those close to the program suspected this appointment all along and were certain that LK would make absolutely sure that the program will continue on its past and present course.  Coach Dartt is a fine man and the program is in good hands.

This goes into the "who cares, it's not football" category.

Dr. Thomas Botzman, president of Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvana, has been named the 13th president of the University of Mount Union.

I saw the white smoke coming from Chapman Hall, so I knew we had a new leader.

So there. 🎓 ❗️

Botzman makes a lot of sense.  He's a NEOhioan and "Mount guy."  Long time professor before moving into admin roles.  Almost every accounting/finance/Econ major around my age had him because he taught Quant 1 and 2 which we all took.

Wishing Dartt 20 - 30 years of success.

And then a handoff to an LK grandchild.   ;D
