Also, does anyone know why Mount's football opener against Musky is being played at Zanesville HS?

The 1926-era grandstand was taken down at the end of the summer and a new stadium is being built, so I would assume that's why.

If anyone else was as clueless as I was on this Musky project it's not just a stadium upgrade.  This is a major project including classrooms, fitness, a 200 meter indoor track with a turf field inside the track (roughly 60 yds of turf).  Very cool project.  Musky Health & Wellness Center

Thanks for the link.  Looks like this will be a great asset for the Muskies.  Mount plays there in 2022.  I'll be looking forward to it.

The NCAA has canceled all D3 winter sports championships again this year.  All member schools submitted which sports they would be playing this winter to the NCAA and those participation numbers were not over the threshold to have a championship (I'm not sure how that threshold was determined).  For example, they required 60% of the schools to play in hoops.  Neither M or W hoops was above 50% participation.  Let's hope this is the last year we have to talk about no non-conference games, no postseason, etc.

Good for Musky! If they're going to loose games, they might as well do it a shiny new stadium! That's cool for them!  8-)

Sad story about the end of Wesley D3 athletics.  Still remember the 62-59 ping-pong game in 2013.

This damn Covid thing is going to take down more small schools.   :'(
Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

Dr. Acula

Certainly sad news about Wesley.  Hopefully their student athletes are able to land somewhere else and continue playing.

I would hope the pandemic doesn't force any of our Ohio D3's to close, but anytime the waters get rough you can't help but be concerned.  A school like Defiance pops into my head immediately.  I believe they had financial issues previously although I haven't heard that being the case recently.

I saw this and feel for those players and coaches. I hope they all land on their feet somewhere. It's sad because Wesley was considered one of the top ten programs in D3. I have many great memories of the games with Mount Union and the talent they had always showed well come playoff time.

I know it's Monday so Friday seems far away.  But just keep in mind when you're wrapping up your week that a couple Friday's from then you'll be watching some Raider football!  Football opens Friday night then baseball opens Saturday afternoon.  Fingers crossed they all get to play.

Does anyone have a link to info on Mount/Musky protocols? Will anyone be able to attend OR am I driving to Zanesville HS to listen to the game in parking lot while eating Pizza (a COVID tailgate)?

The OAC said awhile back that there would be no spectators allowed at events until March 1. They said at that time they would assess the situation and make appropriate rulings. So I guess the bottom line is we won't know anything until March 1st.
Hope that helps. It's correct as far as I know.

Ok. Well...can't be a "spectator" if your are in the parking lot by the tennis courts off of Blue Ave and Clearview St. eating pizza. Spectators or not - I am going. Roll Raiders!

Just want to say as a YSU and Mount Union fan, I'm really impressed with former JCU defensive coordinator Joe Schaffer. He's YSU's new d coordinator and in the last two weeks the D has looked much better than last year. Last week they held defending national champs North Dakota State to 11 points in the first half.

I remember how tough JCU played against Mount Union's offenses the last few years and I'm glad to see a well coached D come to the Penguins.

Anyone hear anything about spectators at the games? We are 7 days away from OAC football!!! I'm sure there will at least be agree link to watch from home, but next week..... I'll tailgate in the Gulling lot and watch from the fence if I need to.
