From Footballscoop.com:

Leipold's six-year deal that will pay him an average of $2.75 million annually, and $16.5 million over the life of the contract.

I wish Leipold all the luck at Kansas.  He is a solid family man, and a hard working coach.  I hated him for beating my Purple Raiders, but you must respect the man's record.

CBS Sports reported on Wednesday that Matt Campbell turned down a 8 year 68.5 million dollar offer the coach the Lions.  The Lions went to full damage control on Friday when they put word that they did not give Matt Campbell a formal offer to be there head coach.

When you include the word formal I guess they aren't lying.

After failing to get Matt they settled on the other Campbell, Dan that is.

Matt will have a bright future wherever he goes.

Love seeing the Raiders heading to play WC in Week 1. Should be a fantastic matchup. Hopefully WC upgrades their game day video feed before Sept.

So with the new 6 region format for football Mount's region is basically the OAC, NCAC and MIAA.  I can't say that I'm a fan of not having the CCIW in the same region now.  Those were always playoff games you looked forward to.  Most years the two best teams in the region will be the OAC champ and runner-up.

It seems to me the regions are going to be important for who gets in the field (pool C rankings) more so than who plays whom. It would also appear that the biggest impact is in Region 6, with MIAC, NWC, ASC and WIAC will have a tougher road to get into the field since all the pool C teams have to stack up behind each other.

I would guess the playoff scheduling, given the travel restrictions, won't veer dramatically from what we have seen in the past as they seek to keep things geographically centered to avoid flights in the first couple rounds. As such the CCIW teams can be part grouped with teams from other geographically proximal regions to get to the most cost effective schedule.

I think this region does stack up well for the OAC.
Most years I would assume the OAC runner up will be on the board right away. As has been said before, the longer a team is in play, the better and better they tend to look. Don't know if this would have been enough for John Carroll to overcome the failed eye test of a 1 possession win over Otterbein, but it also couldn't have hurt

Hi bluestreak66

Good to hear from you again. As usual, another year for UMU and JCU to battle it out for OAC supremacy. Of course, there's always a chance, one of the other teams will have something to say!

At Mount, the turf in the stadium is being replaced. For the last few years, the end zones have been black with purple lettering. Now they will be purple with black lettering. No, the field will stay green. (Wouldn't a white field be wild?)

Practice begins next month, around the 10th or the 12th. Seems we're getting back to normal. Everything is GO for our fall sports.

Say Hi to little brother (JCUStreak70). See you in University Heights, I hope!

Go Everybody in D3 land.  ;D

But, I thought you graduated in '70 and your brother graduated in '66. Normally, that makes him older. Oh, never mind. Sorry!
