I went to practice and watched the first units . Woe betide D3 defensive backs against those wide receivers. Braxton Plunk is scary accurate with the long ball.

At 1:00 pm tomorrow Mount Union and Washington and Jefferson will hold a joint practice at Mount Union.

We may see some crazy numbers put up by Plunk this fall.  Dartt taking his foot off the gas may be the best pass defense opponents have during the regular season.

Finally getting around to checking out the OAC coaches poll and the only D3 top 25 that counts (thanks, Pat!).  Top 5 of the top 25 was as expected.  JCU (11) and Berg (24) landed in the top 25 along with Mount (2).  It is odd not seeing UST in the poll anymore though.

As an old guard guy that loathes BW I have to admit I enjoyed seeing the Jackets not even picked to finish in the top half of the conference.  Beating BW in anything or BW losing to anyone else in anything will never get old.

As a central Ohioan I was less pleased to see my two closest teams picked to finish 9th and 10th.  That makes it hard to convince yourself to go watch a game.  I hope the new coach at Cap can get some traction, but man the competitive years for Cap are getting pretty distant in the rear view mirror at this point.  They haven't even been .500 in 8 (and a half?) seasons.  Ott has at least been moderately competitive fairly recently, but even they are coming off 1-4, 2-8, 2-8 efforts.

I join you in my disdain for BW... Here's a funny one, I think you all will appreciate. I was at the Sox-Tribe game in Chicago a few weeks ago. Ran into an Indians fan at one of the restaurants  before the game (got to talking how he was hoping the Sox can make a run in the playoffs), and I told him that I went to school in Cleveland... And he had the audacity to ask if it was BW.... I then told him my hatred for them, and that I went to JCU... At which point he said "makes sense actually, since JCU does pull quite a few from Chicago."

Didn't know what to think though, that he thought I could've been a BW guy.

There is really nothing to like about BW. I understand your dismay at being accused of going to BW. I have the greatest respect for JCU. We seem to have a mini-rivalry going. I realize your main rivalry is that school in Berea.
I seem to be rambling so I'll close with Go Bluestreaks and Go Raiders. Yellow Jackets-Just go away!  8-)  :D

Is it safe to assume that being accused of attending BW was one of the biggest insults in your life??   Especially for a JCU guy!  ;D

Ha, you are correct! It's almost worst than someone asking if I'm a cubs fan, when they find out I'm from Chicago....

I saw in the Rep that Lake HS already had to cancel their football game Friday due to COVID issues.  I believe I heard Sebring HS cancelled last Friday.  I'm just hoping those are isolated incidents and not an indicator.

On the other hand, they could have made you feel really great and asked if you were a Mount Union grad!

I am sure its nothing. There was that case of...shoot what's the name...anyway it was something that happened back in 2019. That was isolated - didn't go anywhere.  ;D

Nice article in today's Wall Street Journal about former JCU  coach Brandon Staley who is now an  NFL Head Coach.
